you sat on a bench just outside the building of your school, your hands resting on your lap as you held onto your phone. you were currently waiting for atsumu since he told you he would take you out somewhere after of school. you didn't know where he was going to take you since he said it was a surprise, so you patiently waited.

seconds turned to minutes, then minutes turned into almost an hour. the sun was starting to set and you could see the students passing by grow less and less. you sighed, opening your phone to check what the time was.

you had been waiting for almost an hour and a half now. there was no message from atsumu either when you looked which made you worry. had something happened to him?

you dialed the boy's number, hearing it ringing on the other end. it took a while but he soon picked up, right away you can tell he was out ot breath.

"hey princess, what's up?"

"are you okay? did something happen?" you asked, your voice filled with worry.

"no, i'm fine. what's wrong?"

you felt relieved that he was fine and unharmed, but your heart clenched when you realized that he forgot you were supposed to be meeting up with him.

"you forgot didn't you..." you mumbled.

"forgot...?" and that's when it hit him. atsumu wanted to slap himself for forgetting about it. "princess i am so sorry–"

"it's fine atsumu." you sighed and stood up from the bench. "i should head home now."

"wait, i can walk you home. practice will end in a bit–"

"atsumu, it's fine. i promise." you let out a small laugh to assure him. "rest well when you get home, okay?"

"i will. i love you."

"i love you too." you ended the call.

you grabbed your bag and started to walk home. it still bothered you a bit, but you didn't want to be a hindrance to his practice on volleyball. lately, the volleyball team has been practicing a lot since nationals are coming soon. you understand why you've been seeing atsumu less and less recently, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't feel sad by it.

you've been used to him being with you all the time but ever since holidays has ended you can only see him during lunch and that's it. you couldn't go home with him since his practice usually ends very late.

you shook your head, letting the thoughts of sadness that was washing over you disappear and thought positively. "i'll just have to support him when the match comes."

"[Y/N] i'm sorryyy!" atsumu, who sat in front of you at the library, whined as he rested his head on the table. "i'll do better next time, i swear!"

"tsumu how many times do i have to tell you, it's fine." you sighed, placing the book you were reading down to face the boy. "and besides, you had practice. you have a big match coming up so i understand."

he pouts, reaching up to your arm and softly poking it with his finger. "i know that but..."

"but?" you stood up to place the book back on the shelves. atsumu followed behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist  hugging you from behind once you've stopped.

"but i feel like i've been seein' you less and less lately..." he rested his chin on your shoulders. "and i hate that."

you let out a small laugh after you placed the book back. you turned to face him, cupping his face that was slightly flushed. "don't worry too much, okay?" you stroked his cheek with your thumb.
