Louis would have led the both of us back towards the main courtyard, once arrived I stopped in my tracks. Just a few moments ago I just saw this place burned to the ground and dead. It still haunted me a bit. Louis saw that I stopped as he turned around to look at me. "Come on. They're waiting." He said, snapping me out of the long gaze I held. I would have looked back at him and nod, slowly moving off of the small porch and into the main courtyard, Louis would have turned back around and kept on walking-me following right behind him.

You're always so paranoid (Y/N)...You have more pressing matters to think about, so push it down and don't think about it again. I scolded in my mind, trying to shrug off the pit I was feeling in my stomach as we made our way towards the main building. Once we entered we made our way over toward the main room, where the piano resided in. All the other kids were there-of course not including Clementine and AJ-Violet looked over seeing that Louis and I had finally arrived; she'd clear her throat, trying to get everyone's attention.

"Alright, here is how it will go. We will raise our hands to show what you want. Either Clem and AJ stay, or they have to leave. Understood?" Violet explained, looking at the sea of heads nodding in response.

"You have to be fine with whatever decision we agree with." Louis interrupted, staring at Violet dead in the eyes. Violet rolled her eyes in response. "Yeah sure, whatever." She scoffed, crossing her arms. "Continuing...Raise your hand if you want Clem and AJ to stay." With that, Violet raised her hand, along with Aasim and Tenn. Shrugging, I'd raise my hand as well. Even with my vote, it'll still be 4 to 5. It'll mean nothing. Violet looked at all the hands raised, frowning as she knew that this meant. "Now raise your hand if you want them to go." when she finished speaking Louis, Willy, Mitch, Omar, and Ruby's hands shot up confirming my thoughts.

"Alright, so they're leaving." Violet said, looking down at the ground. "I'll go and tell them." With that, Violet started to head out of the main room.

"I'll come with you Violet." I spoke up. Jogging after her. Violet slowed down and offered a smile, I returned it with a small smile and continued to walk with her. The few seconds of silence then ended when the sound of footsteps came running towards us.

"I'll come too. It's only fair." Louis said, stopping in his tracks once he was 2-3 feet away from her. Both Violet and I stopped in our tracks and looked at him. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" Violet said, her eyes narrowing. "Yeah, who knows what you'll say." Louis retorted, narrowing his eyes back at her. The tension was so thick it was suffocating, so to try and get out of it, I would start to walk again. "We need to tell them before it gets too dark out." Was all I said, Louis and Violet held down their staring contest for a little bit longer before following me out of the main building.

Arriving at Clementine and AJ's room, Violet knocked on the door a few times before walking in. I followed in after her, and Louis would do the same. There, Clementine and AJ could be seen sitting on the bunk beds. Once she saw it was us she'd get up from the bed and would face us.

"We took the vote. You have to leave." Violet said bluntly, crossing her arms. AJ got off the bed as well, making his way towards the four of us and standing next to Clementine. "Don't we get to vote? I vote that we stay." That stung a bit, frowning at that response I couldn't help but feel bad. This situation is just so fucked up.

"That's not how it works." Louis responded in a cold tone, snapping me out of my thoughts. I would just shake my head, I don't want to start things but Violet didn't care. She just scoffed once more.

"Maybe it should be."

"You don't have to like it."

"Good because I don't-"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." Clementine interrupted the verbal battle. Looking over at Louis to indicate the comment was more towards him rather than Violet.

"What'll help me sleep at night is knowing you two are gone." Louis retorted, glaring a Clementine.

He's just hurting...He lost his best friend. That is all I could think about that can excuse his actions. Sadly, Violet isn't that kind towards him. "You can be such a shithead Louis. So fucking stupid.." Violet placed a hand on her head. "You said you'd go along with it, if we voted fairly." I mean he was right, she did say that she'd go along with it. "It's bullshit, and you'd know it if you weren't so used to burying your head in the sand!" Violet argued.

Great. More fighting...

"Oh, I'm burying my head in the sand? Hate Marlon all you want, but you can't tell me AJ isn't dangerous, too."

"Alright, shut it both of you." I got in between Louis and Violet, looking over at Clementine. "This isn't getting anywhere if you two keep on arguing, and like I said, they had to leave before it gets too dark out." I looked over at Violet who just kept on frowning. I understood how she was feeling. But right now we have to keep them safe outside the walls to the best of our ability. "Fine...We'll wait for you to pack up, then Louis and I'll escort you out past the safe zone. We'll make sure you get to the road safely. It's not a lot, but at least you won't die on the way." Violet trailed off, looking at Clementine to see what her response was.

"We won't be safe once you leave us out there. We'll last a few days, maybe, if we're lucky. Then it's back to running, hiding, and trying not to die." Clementine tried to reason. But, Louis shot them down quickly.

"You'll still be doing better than Marlon and Brody."

AJ stared at the floor for a few moments before looking up at me. "Where's Tenn? I gotta say goodbye." Violet then moved in front of me, looking down at AJ. "He..was really upset about the vote, and he's not talking to anybody. It's best to leave him alone when he's like this, but... For the record, he wanted you to stay." I just nodded in agreement, AJ just frowned, moving his gaze back down on the ground.

"Wait." Louis said, all three of our eyes moved towards him. "Does AJ still have that gun?" Louis questioned. AJ would move his hand towards the back of his pocket, taking out the gun. Louis walked up towards him, reaching his hand out in front of him. "Hand it over."

"Um, is that necessary?" Violet question.

"Hell yes, it's necessary. I'm not walking out into the woods with him holding that thing. We already know he knows how to use it." Louis retorted, looking back down at AJ as he waited for the gun to reach his hand. But Clementine stepped in. "It's yours, AJ. You should keep it." Louis looked up at Clementine with surprise, then back at AJ hoping he would still give him the gun. But AJ would just put it back in the back. "It's mine. I need it for monsters."

"If I thought you were only gonna use it on monsters, I wouldn't be so worried about it. But fine, let the kid keep the murder weapon."

"We'll be waiting outside." I intervened, motioning Louis and Violet to follow. A few minutes later Clementine and AJ stepped out of the room.

"Alright, Lets go."

(A/N)

Hello everyone, just want to say sorry for not updating this yesterday. As it was New Years Eve so my family and I had a lot of plans for that day. I'm sorry if the chapter is super short as well. I want to try and lengthen out the story so I don't want to add a lot into one chapter. But if you want more in each chapter let me know.
