The grumble and roar of the hovercrafts over head in the middle of the night is nothing new, just kinda one of those things you get used to here in Sector 3. I throw my pillow over top my head, trying to drown out the noise. To no surprise it didn't work, this had happened far to often.
"Every...damn...night!" I yelled.
My mom burst into my room. "Be quiet Aki, you're going to wake you father." She rolled her eyes as she left. "I raised her to be a better young woman than that. Fourteen years and she still has no manners." I heard her mumble as she closed the door.Just as I fell back asleep I jolted back upright. Two C.T.E.U. soldiers had come crashing through my window. One grabbed my arm and began to lead me towards the window, "this is not a drill," it said flatly. The other stood at the broken window holding a rope thy seemed to be coming from the sky. "0500 hours. Begin hovercraft boarding." The second one began to repeat over and over.
I reached for my shoes, but was yanked away before I found grab them. "No time for belongings. You will be issued new things when we reach our destination." The first armed soldier said.
"Destination?! What destination?!" I shouted.
No response was given.
I tried to avoid the broken glass as made my way to the window. The soldier handed me the rope and instructed me to hold on and climb out the window. I didn't seem to have another choice, so I followed their instructions closely. They followed behind, and now the three of us are hanging over the gray, industrious Sector 3. The rope began to rise and for the first time I looked up. A hovercraft, the floating, black, triangular ship was reeling the rope in.
