RUFUS^
A FEW WEEKS LATER:
I was the first person inside the house. Well, the mansion. A dog walked up to me. I sat down as easily as I could with my leg.
"Come here, Rufus," He looked like a Rufus. The dog came rushing over. I smiled. I pulled out the new phone they got me. I clicked on a song from my playlist and put in my headphones.
"When all she needs
And all she wants
When all she finds
When all she is, and ever was
Is compromised
'Cause there's no one to love her when
You built your walls
Too high
And there's no one to love you when you build
Your walls
Too high
She's looking out
From the war that's inside
She's screaming out
'Cause no one survived
But when you're all alone
You wait and you hide
'Cause it's the story of a queen whose castle has fallen to the sea
Knowing, no one will be
A king who will come and save his queen," I sang under my breath.
"You must be nice if Rufus will let you pet him. And, nice song," A deep voice came from behind me. I jumped. Well, as well as I could with a broken leg.
"Ow..."
"Sorry," I figured he wanted me to tell him my name.
"Isabelle Lina Black. And about the song, it's called Paper Crown,"
"Sorry, Angel," He smirked.
"How the hell did you 'Angel' from my name?"
"Well, most people don't name their kids Lina, they name them Angelina,"
"Ok... that sounds stupid, but go for it,"
"Can I have your phone number, or...?"
"No. Not yet, anyway. Aren't you gonna tell me your name?" I asked.
"Aren't you gonna tell me why you think your last name is Black?"
"Because my family said so," I grumbled.
"No way. You're that Isabelle Black?"
"No. I am not 'that' Isabelle Black. I'm just Isabelle Black,"
"Sorry, sorry. I'm Finn Alex Stone,"
Alex. Alexis. The screams. The blood. The men.
My face paled. I buried my head in my hands.
"What did you do, Finn?" Atlas asked, coming into the house.
"Nothing; I just told her my name: Finn Alex Stone,"
"Shit..." Atlas rubbed his face.
"LANGUAGE," Kayla yelled from the car.
"What did I do?" Finn asked.
