I'm coming home. Words I never thought would ever cross my mind again. I sit here on the Hogwarts Express watching the views, gracing me with its beautiful greenery, yes these may seem boring to every other person but once you've lived a life as hectic as mine you will realise the small peaceful moments such as this are rare and must not be taken for granted-
"Oh hey!"of course someone has to interrupt my thoughts just as I'm thinking of how much I enjoy these moments alone. I higher my gaze to look for the source of the voice, I lock eyes with a blonde haired girl smiling down at me with her deep blue eyes, wearing a uniform of green and silver. Slytherin. I smile to myself thanking merlin she isn't any other house, not because I have anything against them but right now seeing that emerald colour I love ever so much makes me elated.
"Um, hi?" she snaps me out of my thoughts with her second attempt at grabbing my attention, I look at her in the eyes with my silver ones once more and smile a genuine smile. "Hey, sorry about that, was in a world of my own I guess" I tell her while shrugging my shoulders, still smiling like the Cheshire Cat, she stands at the carriage entrance for a moment not saying anything until "Do you mind if me and my friends sit here, we wouldn't normally ask but there's nowhere else free?" Goodbye to my peaceful train trip. "Sure, of course" I state, moving my gaze outside the window next to me once more.
I try to stay focused on the views I was just enjoying, yet the sound of people scuffling into the carriage is an easy distraction, I turned my head back towards the rest of the carriage and notice it's once empty seats were now taken by multiple people, the girl I'd just spoken to sat opposite me, a boy with dirty blonde hair, quite handsome may I add, sat next to her engaging in a conversation with another good looking boy, whom had dark hair and eyes, laughing along with his conversation. I then look to the person on my right, and my eyes met his silver ones immediately. Was he already looking my way? Of course not. I felt my cheeks burn up a-bit out of the embarrassment that he'd caught me looking at him but my confidence soon grew back once his eyes left mine, travelling down my body slowly, and then back up at the same speed, meeting my gaze once more. Sat 3 metres away from me was this gorgeous boy with blonde hair which reminded me so much of silk sheets, just daring me to feel it to see if what it was portraying was true, his beautiful grey stormy eyes burning into mine at 200 degrees which I instantly lost myself in and now I'm struggling to find my way out.
"I'm Oaklee by the way, Oaklee Rivers" my attention is now directed back towards the girl sat at the other side of the carriage, I smile once again at the girl "Nice to meet you Oaklee" I say still smiling, I notice everyone's gaze is directed towards me so my head drops a-bit in an attempt to hide my embarrassment, a few moments of silence pass until "Do you have a name or shall we just call you carriage girl?" I lift my head and look at who I now know to be Oaklee and let out a small chuckle at her humorous attempt, " Yea, it's Y/n Windsor", "Never heard of your family don't tell us you're a dirty mud blood" I look to the blonde boy next to me, and chuckle again but this time at his bad attitude " No pure blood" I smile "Let's just say I'm the last Windsor there is" I reply, making sure to make eye contact with each of them ,who are all staring at me like I'm some sort of alien or something. Rich wizarding families really should get off their high horses.
"Are you all going to sit and stare or be polite and introduce yourselves?" I ask them finally breaking the tension built by them. "I'm Heir Woodlands" the dirty blonde haired boy opposite me quickly states, smiling at me while holding his hand out for me to shake, I smile back at him but as I go to shake his hand, he grabs mine, and kisses it's back, I blush slightly and carry on smiling at him for a few more seconds after he releases my hand. "Blaise Zabini my lady" I turn to the boy sat next to Heir and smile at his introduction, I haven't been called 'my lady' in a very long time and I've definitely missed the pleasant feeling you get when you receive such a phrase. I snap out of my thoughts to reply "Nice to meet you kind sir" ,the carriage fills with little giggles from everyone present, due to our old school introductions, well I thought everyone, I look to my right to see the blonde boy rolling his eyes rather dramatically at the encounter, clearly not amused in the slightest, what the fuck is up his arse?
"And you?" I ask the boy beside me, his head not even turning to look in my direction. Rude. "What about me?"he replied in a rather bored manner. Is this boy actually stupid? "Your name?" I state quite coldly, already tired of this boys arrogance and bad attitude, this time it's my turn not to look in his direction, instead looking at the people sat in-front of me. I feel his head snap in my direction, staring for a few seconds at the side of my face. "It's Malfoy, Draco Malfoy, and if you know what's good for you, you will look at me when I'm speaking to you" I let out a chuckle, who does this boy think he is? I don't move an inch, still not looking in his direction just to annoy this boy some more, "Malfoy huh? How interesting." I smile to myself knowing what I know about his family I could ruin him and his families reputation, but I'm going to play nice. For now. "Interesting? How so?" Everyone's attention is fully on me once more, their eyes sparkling in anticipation, waiting for which words will be next to leave my mouth. I snap my head in his direction, making sure to look his way this time, once again our eyes are locked on each other and it takes all my strength to not get lost in them, instead I give him my signature smug smile and blankly reply "No reason". His brows furrow in confusion, clearly trying to figure out what I meant, I stare for only around 2 seconds more just to build a-bit of tension until I turn back around to the rest of the group, leaving him thinking about what I could possibly find so interesting about his family name.
The rest of the trip was great, I got along with the group quite well, I learned me and Oaklee both share an interest in transfiguration which is great as it's probably the only subject I'd consider my self good at, Heir was absolutely hilarious, his smile so contagious, adding humour to every situation along with a-bit of harmless flirting, Blaise had promised to tutor me in potions which I hoped he would stick to, I've put many years and so much of my time into bettering myself at potions yet I'm as good now as when I first opened those stupid potions books. And then Draco. He was silent the rest of the ride, now and again I would feel him looking in my direction probably still trying to figure me out, that was the exact affect I wanted to have on him, sucks to be him I guess.
Once the train came to a halt I was quick to jump off the train as I was too excited to sit here any longer. Oaklee and Heir walked at my side once we was off the train, "So if you're new this year I guess you have to take the boats with the first years" Heir shrugged but I just smiled. "I don't mind the view is immaculate" I told him. "How would you know? You've never seen it before have you?" Oaklee was quick to state, her brows furrowed slightly "Uhm of course not, that's just what I heard" I smiled at her brushing off her previous statement, she returned my smile and we walked to their carriages in a comfortable silence. "Well I guess this is where we part" I turn to the boy and girl stood beside me and give them a genuine smile, "Only for now, I feel we're going to be great friends" Oaklee tells me while embracing me in a tight hug, maybe this time around everything will go well for me, I smile at her and Heir once more waving them off as their carriages leave towards the castle, I'm probably late for the boats now. I turn and run in the direction of the harbour, just making it onto the last one.
I look up at the lit up castle infront of me, it looks the exact same as the last time I was here, merlin it feels good to be home.
