"Shotaro, that new guy again? Why the hell is everyone talking about him? He literally comes here and all the trainers praise him already? Shit, this is so annoying. Bet he's some sort of rich kid or whatever, kind of suspicious that they like him so much. His face isn't even that great" One guy in white, plain cloth muttered mockingly. "That kind of face won't survive here, I guarantee you guys"
"But his dance is really top notch, you have seen it yourself during the evaluation. He seems nice and all but he speaks broken Korean so I never talk to him tho. Imagine the time we need to wait for him to form his sentence. Im so lazy for that" Another one, with a black cap chimed in.
The white tee humph. "So what, everyone that I know here is good at dancing, the new guy is not anything special. Oh right, Sungchan is still in another trainees group section, I forgot he never seen the new guy. Everyone been talking about the new guy but you've never said anything"
Sungchan who has been silent, glanced downward to the white tee, "I don't know, I have not seen him yet. Honestly, I don't care. As long as I'm doing good so it's fine. And we got no time to be focusing on others now."
"True, we got another evaluation after this week and I heard the rumours it is to finalize the new members for nct"
"Yeah, I've heard that too. It will be great if it's me. I'm this cute, so I at least got a chance, no?" The white tee laughed confidently. "It's a joke but what if they select that new japanese guy hahahahaha but there's no way, right?"
"I think so?" The black cap replied and they both look at Sungchan, waiting for his opinion.
Sungchan sighed looking at the two, "Again, I don't know and I don't care" With that, Sungchan walked away from the two. He got no time gossiping like this when he didn't have much time left for the next evaluation.
He never met the so called japanese but with all the trainees talks, he knew that the new boy is so good at dancing that the dance teachers keep on mentioning the boy to the other trainees. He also knew how much the trainers cant seem to be angry at the boy, for god knows why. He knew the boy, whoever he is, has been making names for his skills despite only been here less than a week. They said the new boy had been dancing since he was a child and already making names in Japan as a talented dancer.
Talented people will shine no matter where they go. Sungchan thought to himself and can't help but felt a little envious and some kind of admiration.
But to be that good at dancing to the point even the trainers approve of your skills, i kinda admired that. I just knew the amount of hard work the Shotaro guy put was not little. I wonder how he's adapting right now. The language barrier....... Wait, why am i suddenly concerned? He's in the other trainee section, I'm sure they will welcomed him just fine.
Well, whatever it is, Sungchan cannot afford to think about this Shotaro guy now. He is 19 now and had been a trainee for years already, and not once have the opportunity to even be selected in the debut lineup. If the rumours are true about the company selecting new nct members, he can't afford to slack off now. He saw his friends, one by one getting selected as a part of nct lineup, and he also wants to be there.
It will be nice if I can debut like them also, Im getting tired. He sighed again. Whatever it is, let's practice more.
Sungchan entered the practice room at the end of the hallway, seeing the room's light is off. Staring at his own reflection on the mirror beside the switch, he screamed to cheer on himself.
"JUNG SUNGCHAN, LOOK AT YOURSELF, YOU'RE SO HANDSOME AND YOUR HEIGHT IS TO DIE FOR. YOUR RAP AND DANCE SKILLS HAS IMPROVED A LOT TOO! YOU CAN DO IT, JUNG SUNGCHAN. YOU'RE THE BEST!!! AGAIN, YOU'RE THE BEST!!! AND AFTER ALL THESE HARD YEARS, LET'S FINALLY DEBUT!! WORK HARDER AND PRACTICE HARDER, YOU'L GET THERE EVENTUALLY"
He smiled proudly at his reflection and flicked the switch open. As he turned around, he noticed a pair of eyes staring at him while sitting down on the floor. The second thing Sungchan noticed was the crumpled kimbap plastic in front of the boy's lap.
