Sasuke felt the cold water surround his body as he let himself sink in it. The darkness consuming him the deeper he got. It was like the light was disappearing, saying that he had lost his chance.

Sasuke closed his eyes, the only thought going through his head was the fact that he could let himself stay there. He could let himself run out of air, feel his lungs burn. He could just drown and wait for all of his troubles to be gone. It wouldn't be a bad idea. In fact, he doubted anyone would actually care.

Then he opened his eyes and saw Naruto and he realized he didn't want to drown. Not yet at least. Sasuke could wait and see what the love of his life had in store for him before doing anything drastic.

The love of his life, saying that filled him with familiar warmth. He liked it.
