The Cafè

Sadie tended to make a habit of being late, but that wasn't going to happen this time, cause she needed her fix. Coffee. It was funny that the one thing she needed to "look alive" was at the same place where she was to meet Owen that very day. She woke up early, put on her eyeliner, (it was not effortless, it was a struggle. I mean, who can actually put eyeliner on like they do in movies?) pulled her hair into a ponytail and got dressed into the clothes she had set out the day before.

She got to Beanies - the Cafè, at her regular time, and waved at the barista working there. That was Socks. Socks was a 18 year old enby whose alignment was definately chaotic neutral, and they used they/them pronouns. Sadie and Socks had met at Beanies, and became friends not long after. This was because Socks loved how Sadie always brought disarray where she went, and because Sadie loved how friendly Socks was, despite their chaotic nature. And Sadie had met alot of new people through Socks, like Luci for example.

Luci and Socks were complete opposites, both in looks, and in personalities. Where Socks was golden in skintone and naturally tan, Luci was a dark, rich brown with a bronze glow to his cheeks; their heights were contrasting, with Socks being on the shorter side, and Luci being around 5' 10", and even their names were completely different, with Socks sounding quite silly, and Luci (short for Lucifer) having quite a sinister meaning. As for their personalities, Luci was a quiet soul, who tended to keep to himself and preferred online video games, whereas Socks almost never stopped talking, and preferred ttrpgs (table-top role playing games - like d&d)

Beanies was one of those cool new coffee shops, built to be more of a hangout spot for the Uni students than anyone else. Luci was sat in a dark corner of the cafè, in one of the circular cubby holes in the wall, with his Iced Coffee, and he didn't notice Sadie come in, nor did Sadie notice he was there. Owen walked in, 15 minutes earlier than he said to be there, and saw Sadie was sat down already with an iced caramel frappe (with her back to Luci). Owen ordered his drink, a pumpkin spiced latte, and sat opposite Sadie.

He explained to her that he needed to paint a portrait to add to his portfolio and since she had ruined some of his paints, she would be his model. He explained, "You would be perfect, since you are so beautiful, and your style is so interesting and unique.", Sadie blushed at this. No one had ever called her beautiful before. Then Owen blushed too and turned away, but little did Sadie know that it wasn't because of her.
