Chapter 5: Heating up

Chibi and Grougal immediately sprang into action, the second Aria got the words out of her mouth. They both went separately and fired fire and energy beams at her from her left and right. Aria disappeared in a huge explosion of fire and wakfu. Chronu staggered out of the pile of wood and water barrels that she had created with her body just in time to see the smoke from Chibi and Grougal's combined attack. Efrim looked at Chibi and then Grougal. "D-did we win?" he stuttered. As if on cue, Aria rushed towards Chibi so fast that she seemingly appeared before him and punched him in the face, knocking him overboard. Grougal responded with another fire blast, but this time Aria opened a portal and redirected the flames back at the dragon. Grougal was knocked to the ground and was about to stand until he felt a tremendous weight on his head. He glared up and saw Aria had him pinned with just her, surprisingly delicate, foot. He tried to struggle but it was no use, he couldn't move. "What's wrong?" she taunted, "you can't tell me that this is the best that 'Grougalorogran' can do?"

"That's enough!" Chronu yelled as she appeared in front of Aria and performed a spin kick. Aria backflipped into a portal to avoid it and was gone for a moment. Chronu quickly helped Grougal to his feet. "Efrim!" she barked, get the lead out of your wings and find Chibi! He went overboard!"

"Ah, right!" he replied and quickly dove over the starboard side just as another energy blast came from above them. Grougal sprouted his wings and grabbed Chronu before taking to the skies. Aria floated high above them encased in the blue aura that she had when they had first laid eyes on her when she took down the storm monster. Chronu rotated her hands counter-clockwise and pointed straight ahead. A blazing red time glyph appeared in front of them. Grougal knew what was about to happen and he beat his wings to fly into it. Suddenly time around them slowed. The clouds that they flew through barely dissipated and Aria seemed to be slower in her movements. But just before they could reach her, Grougal sensed a portal opening behind them. He veered to the left and was singed by the heat of the beam. Chronu grit her teeth and looked back up at Aria. She was still moving slow to them, but the portals were faster than her <Haste> spell. More energy beams fired from all around them. Grougal took evasive maneuvers and Chronu made another haste glyph. Grougal was doing the best he could to avoid Aria's attacks but eventually he had to stop moving entirely because they were surrounded on every side by open portals. "Looks like this is the end of the road for you two" Aria called in her echoed voice Suddenly, a flash of light came from below and just as every portal fired on them and Chibi appeared in his exalted form and redirected every blast back towards Aria. Stunned, Aria barely dodged the counterattack and stared with wonder at Chibi, before laughing hysterically. Chibi was floating on his own, he had a neon blue aura around him, markings on his arms, legs, and face, and a blue-green ring around his waist. Grougal and Chronu stared at him and were speechless. Chibi grinned at them and floated up towards Aria, who had finally stopped laughing.

"I don't want to hurt you," he said calmly, "We're just here for Prince Alibert"

Aria scratched the back of her head and laughed. "Yeah, 'you don't want to hurt me', and yet you're using the Eliatrope dofus because you're terrified of my power"

Chibi glared at her but didn't say a word. Instead, he created two swords out of wakfu and got into a battle stance.

"Very well then," Aria mused, "Come and show me what you can do!"
