"What is with you people and robots!?" Jak yelled over the humming of the giant's laser. "Seriously, there can't be that much stasis and metal in the world" The giant fired, and Jak was greeted with a blinding light before he ended up back at camp.
"Didn't I say not to over-do it?" Yugo said as he put his hand on Jak's shoulder. Jak whirled around and saw that the entirety of the Original Brotherhood of the Tofu had gathered; even Ruel Stroud. Flopin offered his hand to Jak, which he took and got to his feet.
"This isn't good Yugo" Evangelyne said watching the giant robot stomp around on the battlefield.
"I know Eva" Yugo replied, opening portals left and right with soldiers falling through them and into hospital beds. "That thing just caused us to have to retreat"
"It's not just that Yugo," Amalia said as she paced back and forth. "Whatever those cyborgs are made of, they're not easy to break, and they still have hundreds left, not to mention the foggermech suits"
"I don't know why you guys look so down though!" Dally said cheerfully, "We've faced bigger odds before and won right? Besides, Goultard and I are having the time of our lives out there!"
"That may be," Adamai said, "But none of us can be everywhere at once" The dragon put his hand to his chin. "Something just doesn't add up here" he continued, "If Ogrest's chaos caused them to lose everything, how did they manage to acquire this much power in such a short time?"
"It's that freak Joho!" Jak chimed in, "That guy knows things. It may be my inexperience talking, but if we can capture him, then we can take down all of his machines.
"That's not a bad plan, in theory" Eva said reassuringly. "The question is, how are we going to get to him?"
Suddenly, the robot stopped moving and got down on all four of its limbs. Its back opened up and a projection of King Adale appeared in the sky. He looked older, tired, and more ruthless than ever before.
"People of the World of Twelve" he declared, "The time has come for you to surrender. Enough of this meaningless bloodshed! We are too powerful for you. It is time to give up this meaningless resistance and unite under the banner of New Sufokia!" the projection paused for a moment before continuing, "I am giving you until sundown to have you all lay down your arms and bow at my feet. If you do not comply, I will simply command my armies to destroy you all where you stand" King Adale took a sip from his teacup. "Oh and 'King Yugo and Queen Amalia', Before you try any theatrics, just know that as we speak, two rather large squadrons are heading towards the Sadida Kingdom and Zinit Island with the sole purpose of destroying everything. Please keep that in mind as you ponder my generous offer" And with that the image vanished.
Adamai, Amalia, and Yugo exchanged looks. Each coming to the same conclusion. They were running out of options fast.
"That coward!" Percy growled through gritted teeth. Flopin put his hand on his little brother's shoulder. "We really need a plan" he said.
Yugo began to think. "If what Adale says is true, then the Tree of Life is in danger.
"Not only that," Adamai said looking out over the scorched battlefield, "The Eliatrope children, the Sadidas, and everyone on Zinit is in trouble. Not to mention how dangerous it will be if one of those Foggernauts got their hands on the eliacube"
Nobody said a word. It seemed hopeless, until Elely caught movement coming from the sky.
"Wait, what's that!?" she yelled as she peered above the sunset. Everyone turned their heads and looked. Yugo and Adamai let a small smile escape their lips.
In a flash of light, six figures appeared before them all. When everyone's eyes adjusted, they could all see the familiar figures of Chibi, Grougal, the Xelor, Nora, Efrin, and...
"A-Alibert..." Amalia sobbed softly, before running up to embrace her son in her arms. Bert held his mother tightly and Yugo came and took them both in his arms.
"I'm sorry mom" Bert said sheepishly.
Amalia shook her head. "Don't be. I'm just so happy that you're okay.
"So... what's with the giant kneeling robot?" Chibi asked.
Flopin explained everything about how the war was going. He had to take a minute to recompose himself when he got to the passing of Yin, so Elely filled in the rest.
"So we have until sundown to surrender otherwise King Adale is going to nuke us, the Sadida Kingdom, and Zinit?" Grougal asked. "Heh!" He began to laugh cockily.
"Grougal!" Adamai scolded, "This is a very serious matter!"
"You misunderstand me brother" Grougal said stepping forward. "Leave things here to us!"
The older adults looked at him in disbelief; especially Goultard and Dally
"What he's trying to say," Chibi said, "We're all together now and we can divide our forces better, Our brothers can go and protect Zinit, while the rest of you go stop the invasion of the Sadida kingdom.
Adamai and Yugo looked at each other and pondered it for a moment.
"It's not a bad idea friends" Ruel chimed in, my drill can get us to the Sadida kingdom from here very quickly. Evangelyne and Amalia nodded at each other.
"Alright then," Yugo said as he started walking away. "We'll leave everything to you"
"Chibi" Adamai said putting a claw on his shoulder, "I know that you have trained for this, but please be very careful with the dofus. Chibi nodded. "I will" he promised.
Yugo and Amalia hugged their son once more. "Don't overdo it Bert," Yugo said letting more concern slip out than he had intended. "Don't underestimate me father" Bert said proudly. "I'm stronger than I was the last time you saw me!"
Yugo smiled before giving Amalia a swift kiss on the lips. "That's for good luck!"
The sun had finally finished setting, everyone had said their goodbyes, and the final mission to take down the Foggernaut army had begun.
