Scared (Dada-Mahi-Virat)

Former Indian captain and current BCCI President Mr. Sourav Ganguly admitted in Woodlands hospital, Kolkata after he complained of acute chest pain. Turns out to be a mild cardiac arrest. He is reported to be stable now. 

This is exactly what the news headlines read. The ground slipped off from beneath Mahi's feet. All he could think of was Dada and his cardiac arrest. He couldn't read the article any further as panic and fear gripped his cells. He was numb at his place. His Dada suffered a cardiac arrest, is admitted in a hospital and he is Dubai, enjoying? It didn't matter that the article said that he is stable now. All Mahi could think was he is not with his Dada. 

Sakshi came from behind Mahi to give him a mug of tea and she peeked into the phone. She read the headline and instantly turned towards Mahi. She felt more worried about Mahi than Dada. Mahi's face was white and blank. Sakshi kept a hand on his shoulder, which broke Mahi's trance. Sakshi kept the mug on the table and embraced Mahi, rubbing his back to console him. Mahi buried his face in Sakshi's embrace and said, "Sakshi, Dada... he... he is... in the hospital. He had a heart.... heart attack", a tone which showed how scared Mahi was.

"He will be okay, Mahi. Trust me. He has been admitted under medical care in time. He will be fine, Mahi. Your Dada will be fine", said Sakshi consolingly.

"He has to be fine, Sakshi. He has to be", said Mahi, pulling away and wiping his tears, which had unknowingly made their way out of his eyes. 

Just then his phone started ringing and the screen flashed Virat's name. Mahi hastily picked up the call because he knew Virat will come to know about Dada's situation earlier than anyone else. 

"Cheeku, have you read the news? Dada, he is hospitalized. How is he now? How did he get a heart attack? Do you know anything?", Mahi ranted, throwing questions after questions at Virat. 

"Mahi Bhai, calm down first. Yes, I have read the news and I have contacted Boria Sir also. He is there with Dada. His condition is okay now. It was a mild heart attack. He will undergo angioplasty as prescribed by the doctor. Also a team of five doctors has been set up to monitor his condition and he is responding well to the treatment", said Virat, cutting off Mahi's rant and assuring him that his Dada will be fine. At that time, Virat could hear only Dada's kid, Dada's Mahiya on the other side of the phone. "He will be okay, he will be fine", said Virat softly

"He will be okay, right?", said Mahi meekly and fearfully, needing assurance. 

"Yes Bhai. He will be. Don't worry", said Virat, hiding his own worry. 

"Now stop worrying. I have told Boria Sir to inform me of any further information the doctors give. I have also organised a conversation with the doctor personally. I will keep you updated, okay?? Don't worry", said Virat in a "I'm there" tone 

"Okay Virat. You also take care", said Mahi, knowing that Virat had so much to handle right now with Anushka's due date being close and also not being with the team, and disconnected the call. 

Unknown to Mahi, Virat was almost as worried as him about Dada. It's just that he didn't show it. Virat immediately called Dona bhabhi, Dada's wife, who was the only person who will know what exactly happened. 

As soon as Dona picked up the call, Virat asked, "Dona bhabhi, this is Virat. I was just calling to know what happened to Dada that he suddenly got a heart attack. Please tell me. We are very worried". Virat knew he sounded childish but he couldn't help it. 

Dona sighed and replied, "He was working in the gym in our house when he had a blackout. He recovered himself only and called for me. I rushed there and saw him on the floor. He complained of chest pain. I immediately called the doctor who advised hospitalization. That's why we took him to the hospital. After that Boria took over".
