Your feet dangled over the edge of the skate ramp. Your legs swung slowly while your eyes dizzily trailed different people who rode their skateboards as easily as you could walk. You had never been able to skateboard no matter how much you tried, but regardless, you and your two best friends always found yourselves at the skate park on Friday nights, hypnotized by the fast movements and teenage boys that seemed to defy gravity.

The food truck that was conveniently parked next to the park was your excuse for hanging around and watching the skaters, but recently, two boys in particular caught your eye. As the sun set, painting the sky with dreamy shades of pink and orange, you watched as the two-current people of interest to you finally arrived.

You didn't know either of their names but had become proficient at recognizing them. One of the boys, who never failed to show up in all black, wore a baseball cap today. He typically wore a bucket hat accompanied by a face mask that stayed tucked under his chin, but today his face was on full display. Even from across the valleys and ridges of skate ramps you could tell how soft his skin looked. You were infatuated. He walked with a kind of swagger that you hadn't seen before. You had come to describe it in your head as a respectful yet dominant confidence.

You took a bite of the burger you had bought from the food truck 20 minutes prior and swooned. The boy who stuck by his side was just as eye catching, though. He tended to dress a little nicer than the other, boasting a keen sense of style. He had black, floppy hair that would swing over his eyes when he landed a trick on his board. Today, it was pulled back into a maroon beanie. He kept his board tucked under his arm coolly.
