"Yo, Ethan! Open up!"
Ethan's eyes shot up to the door, shocked at the person's presents in the middle of a mess like this.
"Oh, fuck," he cursed under his breath.
He looked at the body and back at the door. The island that stood in the middle of the kitchen was big enough to hide the body behind since the door was in the corner of the home. The kitchen was at the opposite, upper corner which makes it hard to see the blood and body. Ethan knew that this was a risky decision but he went with it.
He sprinted to his room and threw on an oversize sweater, which belonged to Jackson, to hide his nasty injury. He straightens himself up and opens the door, enough to reveal their faces.
"What's up, Jack?"
"I thought you were going to stay for the whole weekend at your parent's place?"
"Yea, I thought so too. But, they felt bad that I had to leave campus once more. So, they decided to let me leave early."
"At least we can hang out," Jackson chuckled. He rested an arm above Ethan while looking down at him. His fit body blocked the sun's light as Ethan glimpsed his muscles for a millisecond. Those chocolate brown eyes teasing Ethan's emerald green orbs.
"Right... Uhm," Ethan gulped softly to himself. "Let's walk and I'll give you an update on what happened.
"Sounds good to me," Jackson smirked.
Ethan quickly walked out of his home and locked the door behind him. Since Ethan lives on the outskirts of the campus, there was nothing but thick forests and woods around them. They walked down, deeper to the forest as they enjoyed each other's company.
Lush, green grass filled the forest floor as the walked. Ethan felt calm, and at ease for once. Whenever he's with nature, it makes him feel free in a way he can't understand. It was like he was meant to be with it. Jackson took note of the sudden change in Ethan's body language. Ethan mindlessly gazed at nature's beauty while Jackson took quick glances at Ethan.
'I should take him on long walks like this' thought Jackson.
Ethan's mind suddenly snapped back to reality.
"So," started Ethan. "How did you know I was home in the first pl-"
"Oh, I just realized that you're wearing the hoodie I let you borrow." Ethan looked down at the hoodie he's wearing and back to Jackson. He chuckled nervously.
"Oh, right. I was studying and I wanted to be comfortable while I was at it. Cause' you know. Finals week and shit."
"Oh shit, really? I didn't know I disturbed you. If you want, we can go back to your plac-"
"No!" Ethan placed his hand on Jackson's wrist to halt him. This took Jackson by surprise as he stopped in his tracks. Ethan mentally slapped himself as he realized what he has done. Ethan immediately swiped away his hand and shoved it in the oversized pockets. He cleared his throat and mumbled, "My bad."
Ethan cringed at himself and avoided eye contact. Jackson simply smiled and nudged Ethan's shoulder with his elbow.
"What? You missed me that much?" Jackson teased.
"Me? Missing you? Why would I? After all, you suck at everything."
"Is that a challenge?"
"You bet in hell it is."
Ethan laughed as Jackson gave a shut-up-before-I-beat-your-ass face. Jackson tackled Ethan to the ground as soft, thick grass, cushioning both of their falls. Ethan winced at the pain from his shoulder but laughed at the same time. Jackson chuckled as he laid above Ethan's semi-slender body. Jackson laugh turned to a generous smile as his deep, chocolate orbs scanned Ethan's ivory skin and deep, emerald eyes. His arm rested beside Ethan for support which made his tricep broaden.
