Chapter 4 - The Briefing
Of course, it's clearly unambiguous to state that this is related to the school nor they had a conspiring act to do this.
Is this a call for students that are new here? I don't understand, the letter was preposterous, it was clearly undefined.
This was only a mild threat that only made me confuse, but the chastise, what if it was true? Damn it, it was just the first day of school and I already feel strained by things like these.
There's only one way that I could do now. Mitch and Daye were giving me quite the dubitation. I had to know something judging from their reaction earlier and Mitch muttering something in his sleeves.
I took a step back and now I was facing both of them. They got to have an answer, why would they respond like that? once they both saw me taking the letter out, they were like mice who just saw a cat.
"Do you know something about this letter?" I questioned quite infuriated. This was giving me a problem, all I thought was stress-relief and this had to be the objection of it.
Mitch glanced towards Daye before nodding towards him. He hesitated before he spoke of something.
"That letter. . ." He began then followed by a sigh.
"That letter is a message to the chosen contestants of Valentia High, a lookout must have caught you in the eye and thought you'd be a fun player" Mitch said.
"You're not the only one who was also chosen" Daye interrupted. I wanted a different question, another explanation since this wasn't helping me get through.
"I don't understand, what does that even mean? what is this whole traditional game? does the school know about this?" I asked questions that piled in my mind.
"Look" Mitch spoke again trying to elaborate the whole situation since Daye wasn't much of a help and my confusion was getting the best of me.
"The school doesn't know about this and it is not associated with it, a few higher caste here in school are in charge about the game and mostly they are the organizers" He trailed off.
"Mostly the game is about seduction, trading your innocence to the competition" Daye continued.
"My innocence, you mean my whole dignity and virtue? is that it?" I asked trying to assure myself.
"That sums it all up" He said. No kidding this is bull-
"What if I don't want to?!" I said anger boiling in me.
"Are you crazy? haven't you red the letter, trust me, it's best if you just go with it, I remember the last guy who rejected the game and it's a shocker that guy barely made it alive with a few of his dignity" Daye said tugging on my shoulder, worried starting to cover his peppy attitude.
"Is he dead?" I asked. I wasn't going to not know what will happen to me if I did rejected this silly competition or game.
