Beach

Liam smiled once he got the umbrella into the sand. "Sweet!" Niall put his chair right under the shade and sat down. "Nice spot Niall, really. There is no one here and we're completely covered." Louis said as he admired the spot Niall picked.

"I told you I got a secret spot. These rocks hide us from everyone else, plus the water is warmer here."

"He's not wrong about that!" Zayn yelled as he was knee deep into the sea. "Who wants to play?" Everyone but Niall got in the water and played with the ball Liam brought.

They spent hours on beach, so much so that they all turned a much darker color, except Niall, he got sun burned. "Damn it, why can't I get a nice color like you guys?" He huffed as he put aloe all over his burn marks. Louis helped him get his back. "We told you to put on more sunscreen." Liam nagged him.

"Oh, shut up, I wanted to have fun." Liam rolled his eyes as he set up the barbecue. "Well, have fun with those burns." Niall kicked some sand at him. Liam chuckled and thanked Zayn as he got the coal.

Liam cooked them burgers and some hotdogs. Niall ate the majority of the food, not surprising. After words Liam decided to relax as the boys went back into the water for some more fun. Zayn actually brought his board, so he had fun showing off his skills.

Just as Liam was about to doze off, he heard some splashing. He looked over, thinking it was one of the boys, but it wasn't. Liam knitted his brows together and looked around but saw nothing. "Boys!" They all looked at Liam and got out. "What happened Payno?" Liam placed a finger against his lips, and they listened.

"What is that?" Zayn put his board on the sand and wondered around, trying to find out where the sound was coming from. Liam climbed some of the rocks and almost fell from what he saw. "Boys, you might want to see this." He called down.

The boys climbed up and their jaws dropped. "No fucking way. This is so not real." Niall said in awe. But it was and they were all looking at it. Liam hopped down and slowly walked towards it. It heard Liam's footsteps and turned its head.

His eyes widened as he looked at the four boys and tried to get away, but his tail was caught in an old fishnet. "Hey, it's okay." Liam tried, but it just made the creature more frantic. Liam was just a few feet away from it and it looked like it was going to have a meltdown.

"Liam! You're scaring him!" Louis yelled, but Liam didn't know what to do. "Do you need help?" It turned its head to Liam again and Liam could see that he had green eyes. Liam stepped closer until he was right next to him. He grabbed an end of the fishnet and untangled it from his tail.

Liam stepped away and they looked at each other. "So, are you a mermaid?" He gave Liam a look, then his eyes widened, and he backed away. Liam cocked a brow then he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Woah, and merman." He smiled as Liam face palmed. "I called him a mermaid." Niall chuckled as he shook his head.

"No, that would be a girl. Mermen are boys." The green eyes man nodded as he smiled at Niall. "Are you scared of us?" Zayn asked. He nodded as he glanced at all four of them. "Well, don't be, we're nice, well, Louis isn't." Louis pinched Zayn as he laughed.

"This is Niall, Zayn, Louis, and I'm Liam." Liam introduced them. "What's your name?" The man made a few gestures with his hands, but no one understood, he huffed and beckoned Liam closer. Liam sat right next to him.

The merman grabbed his face and pressed their lips together. He pulled away and Liam was shocked but confused because he was expecting him to taste salty, but he tasted sweet. "I'm sorry, we learn new languages from lip contact." Liam blinked a few times and the merman talked in a deep slow voice.
