it gets difficult to talk

when you nearly deafen me

cause you start laughing

but if it means that we get through

well into the first week of the year, fortunately for remus, the full moon was set at the end of the month and he still had a few weeks to dive into his studies without the burden physically and mentally looming over him.

he was sat in the dimly lit library finishing off his charms homework, that was due in 2 weeks time, however he tried to stay on top of his work as much as possible especially when he usually became restless and unable to complete homework on the week of a full moon.

he was interrupted when a caught a strong whiff of lavender, which even without his heightened scenes he would be able to smell from a mile off.

"hiya remus!" a high voice spoke a little too excitedly.

remus looked up from his work and smiled at the girl standing beside him, "hi anita." he smiled.

Anita Featherstone was a hufflepuff in the year below remus, who he had been aquatinted with last year, she was a nice enough girl with layered blonde hair and a bright smile. she had taken a certain liking to remus in the previous year and now it seemed quite like that hadn't filtered out over the summer.

"mind if i sit?" she asked, batting her rather dark eyelashes- strange for someone with such a light complexion remus thought, although he had heard lily and her friends discussing makeup products to darken eyelashes.

remus had never been particularly interested in the opposite gender back at home, although in primary school he didn't think many boys did.

throughout his time during hogwarts the interest hadn't extended much, unlike james who was convinced he would marry lily.
although he hadn't shared the same interest as his friend, remus did enjoy lily's company, as he was sure anyone would. she was a smart girl who was also very kind and caring, and he wouldn't lie to himself and say she wasn't pretty. he also didn't find her as irritating as some of her friends, mary and marlene had always been a bit of a nuisance to remus, although in the short time they had spent together this year they seemed to have matured, par the giggle fits they often had.

"of course." remus said politely and moved his books out of the way so she had plenty of room.

however she decided to sit directly besides him, a little too close for comfort- her perfume was starting to give him a slight headache.
anita had also matured and blossomed quite as much as mary and marlene had, her uniform no longer swamped her as much as it had in previous years and fitted rather flattering now, her skirt not leaving too much to the imagination.
remus wasn't one to judge though.

"what are you working on?" she asked leaning even closer into remus to take a look at his essay.

"oh just charms homework." remus shrugged, subtly shifting away from her.

"oh! i really struggle with charms, you don't think you could help me anytime do you?" once again she batted her lashes at remus and all a sudden he felt rather flustered.

"oh.. erm.. of course, what exactly are you struggling on?" he asked.

"oh only everything." he sighed tipping her head back letting her long hair fall behind her.

helpful. remus thought to himself.

"but especially just silly little simple things such as accio"

"didn't you learn that in first year?" remus questioned her, trying not to sound too rude.

she giggled madly falling onto remus' shoulder, although nothing seemed to be funny. remus felt immediately uncomfortable at the new contact and felt relieved when she picked herself up off him.
"yes," she sighed, "but every time i try use it the object comes flying at me! i nearly knocked myself out with a box of chocolates the other day." she laughed lightly to herself and remus offered a sympathetic smile.
