he said i know you, you know me

one thing i can tell you is you got to be free

come together, right now, over me

hangovers.
Remus thought nothing could be worse.
well maybe the cruciatus curse, but it was a very thin line.

his head span as he sat up and he immediately had to rush over to the bathroom.
he felt as though he was spilling all of his insides out as he gagged over the toilet bowl.

James came in and handed him a glass of cold water, patting him on the back.
"there we go.." he grimaced as Remus threw up again, "get it all out."

"thanks." Remus coughed taking the water and swirling it about his mouth before spitting it out.
"ugh, i'm never drinking again."

"you say that." James laughed and walked out.

Remus pressed his forehead against the cool surface of the toilet, completely unsanitary he knew, but it felt too good against his hot skin.

Sirius rushed in and shoved him aside.

"hey!" he called out after slamming back against the wall.

Sirius was too busy with his head down the toilet to apologise.
Remus sighed and stood up, a little wobbly, the bathroom stank of sick.

he walked out and dived back down onto his bed, thank god for saturdays.

"come on Moony, let's get some breakfast in you."

and thank god for James Potter.

he didn't eat too much, scared he would throw up again and just picked at his eggs. James hadn't drunk too much the night before, too busy pining over Lily, and was in annoyingly high spirits.
none of the girls were at breakfast with them, Remus wasn't surprised it was 11 now and they probably ate at 9.

they went back to the common room and saw the girls were all seated by the fire as per. Remus swallowed hard and went over to Mary.

"hey, Mary." he said nervously, "can i talk to you?"

she nodded and stood up, placing her magazine down on the sofa, and followed him to the seats near the window.

"i just wanted to say sorry for last night.."

"why?" she laughed, "it was fun."

"yeah it was." he chuckled lightly at the memories, "but i just wanted to apologise anyways, it wasn't like me and- and i'm not really looking for anything serious like that."

"oh Remus." he smiled. "you're so sweet."

he blushed at the complement and his his face in his hands.

"don't worry, darling." she said putting a hand on his arm, "i'm not going to chain you down because we kissed a few times."

"thanks." he smiled.

"you're most welcome." she said standing up before leaning in close to him, "but if you wanna have a good time, just gimme a call." she winked and walked off.

Remus laughed once he realised her one liner, 'good one Macdonald' he thought to himself.

the afternoon was pleasant an Sirius and Marlene seemed to be back on good terms, although they weren't all over each other like normal. Remus wondered if this was because of his and Sirius' conversation or just because she hadn't fully forgiven him yet.
