Noelle;

i laid back on my pillows and stared at the ceiling of my old bedroom. i contemplated moving back in with my mom.

just until i got my money situation handled. bills are becoming harder to keep up with and thats aside for having to buy food and other necessities to survive.

"noelle, come down here!", i heard my mom call from downstairs. i sighed and leaned off my bed.

as i made my down the stairs, i could hear what sounded like talking coming from a walkie talkie.

i walked over to my mom, who was standing at the door in front of two cops.

fuck.

"um..what happened?", i asked.

"they're here about a stolen bracelet..they said you were there the night it was stolen"

i gulped hard as i look at my moms bracelet under her sleeve. "i..i don't know anything about that".

the cops looked away from my mom and side eyed me. i kept my composure as much as i could, knowing how that simple bracelet could bring me, and every one else down.

"theres footage of you remaining inside when the bracelet was stolen. if you have it or you know someone that has it, you can give it back and only have to pay a fine of theft", one of the cops explained.

"yeah, i stayed because i was scared and didn't know what to do. i hid behind a counter because i thought someone was coming inside but after a while of hearing nothing, i got up and left. i don't have your bracelet" i said. they looked at for a second before nodding.

"okay. sorry to waste your time ma'am", the cop nodded towards my mother.

"oh, no problem. you have a nice day", she said as she started to close the door. i let out a large breath and turned around to walk up stairs.

"mm mm, turn your ass around" i heard my mom say. i slowly turned around and gulped as her stare burned holes in my eyes.

"sit down" she said, walking over to the couch

"yes?", i calmly sat next to her, keeping a safe distance.

"did you steal this" she asked, holding up the bracelet in my face.

"i already said i didn't".

"yeah, i've raised you through out your entire life. i know when you're lying. you start playing with your toes like a dumbass", she spit.

i looked down and uncrossed my legs. "so i'm gonna ask you one last time. did you steal this?" she asked, more stern this time.

"um...kinda?", i lied. i didn't want to rat out billie, even to save myself from my mothers wrath.

she stared at me for a minute before pulling the bracelet off her wrist and throwing it down on the coffee table.

when she turned back to me, she slapped me across the cheek.

hard

"what the fu- for what?!" i yelled, grabbing onto my cheek

"i didn't raise you to be a thief. pack your bags back up and get out the hell out of my house."

i stared at her in disbelief, only causing her to grow angrier. "now, noelle !".

i jumped back from the sound of her voice and ran back up stairs with tears streaming down my face.

i picked up my phone and called someone who i thought would answer, "hello?".

"allure c-can you please come get me?", i sniffled as i wiped a few tears from my cheeks.
