The evil in the castle

Fire

-Diane's POV-

"What is that smell?" I asked as I felt that it was getting hotter in here. Then Elizabeth coughed as well as me. Just a second after, Ban coughed too.

"I'm starting to feel a little... dizzy." I said. Ban agreed as Elizabeth was about to fall from her chair, but was cough by Meliodas.

"I will go and look what is causing this. Try to get some fabric over your mouth and nose to stop, whatever it is in the air, from coming in your system." Meliodas said and used his sleeve to do as he said to himself. He also ripped off the other sleeve, showing his muscular arm and a red symbol.

It's strange, because I have the exact a symbol like that, but with a snake instead and on my leg.

He gave his sleeve to Elizabeth as she took it and did as he did. Then he walked out of the room. I didn't have any extra fabric like sleeves or anything, but Ban gave me one of his sleeves.

I was starting to have a harder time to breath and it was getting a bit hard to see. Is it... smoke in the air?

Suddenly, Meliodas bust the door open and he said "Fire! You need to get our of here immediately!"

We stood up, Ban taking the led, me after and Meliodas carried Elizabeth outside. When we come out, we saw the towns people from the nearest village. They all stood a bit away.

Did they put the fire at the castle? Well, the walls and floors it of rock, so the castle won't burn down, but everything in it will. Nearly the whole castle have wooden things inside. Paintings, tables, chairs, boxes, like everything. It will all be gone and the walls will surely have some damage.

When we come just five meters from the castle, Meliodas stopped walking and put down Elizabeth.

"M-Meliodas? What are you d-doing? It's too close to the c-castle." Elizabeth said as I said "Come on! We need to go!"

Ban was just quiet and looked down as Meliodas said "I can't come with you, even if I wanted."

"What do you mean? You can come with me. I won't go without you!" Elizabeth said. Meliodas just shook his head and said "No Elizabeth, I really can't. It's a barrier around the castle that doesn't let me walk out of the castles territory."

"But I won't go without you!" Elizabeth said and hugged Meliodas, but he made her let go.

"You need to go. It's dangerous out here. You should find someone else. Someone better then me." Meliodas said and caressed the crying Elizabeth's cheek.

"No! I won't leave you! No matter what!" Elizabeth said as she hugged Meliodas tight, not letting go. I couldn't see what happened next because everything went dark.

I woke up in a room. A boy was sitting next to me in a chair.

"Diane, you gave finally woken up!" He said and hugged me. I was so confused.

"W-who are you?" I asked and he let go off me. He looked hurt and said "Diane, it's me, King, don't you remember?"

-Ban's POV-

Me and Elaine was sitting with each other at the dining table. Both was quiet. I have told her everything that happened from when I disappeared for about a week ago and she was about to move in with us... but then it was this fire.

Meliodas and Elizabeth... is both gone. They died that day it was fire. King had told all the towns people about a monster named Meliodas living there and they put fire on the castle.

It's so horrible. Elizabeth never let him go from the hug when some rocks fell down over them and they... died.

He had that mark too. The same mark me, King and Diane have, but we all have different animals. It's funny. It remains me of a legend.

Seven people that have experienced seven different pain and suffering will become one and all. They all have a mark on their bodies with beasts. They will fight against life and overcome the impossible.

It says that the Dragon will be the strongest and have experienced the most pain. His wrath is a never ending emotion and can destroy everything in his sight.

The serpent easy get envious and have experienced the pain of being an outcast, a outsider, a alien.

Fox will be the greedy type that is able to steal anything after being forced to his whole life. That's funny because I have been through the same thing.

Grizzly will be pretty lame and is called sloth.

The legend of the Goat is that he have no emotions left after people have said that he have raped someone.

The next is Boar and will always be the smart type. The one who will out brain the others. She will always have things to say and she wants to learn more. She is gluttony after information.

The last one is Lion and is really prideful. He have been told that he is a monster over and over, still he acts like he is the best person on earth.

I think Meliodas had the dragon, but I have no idea. He is dead now, so he couldn't have been one of them. They is said to overcome the impossible, but you can't if you are dead.

That's not enough either. Of course Diane would have a memory loss, so when the towns people is trying to ask if it was true about Meliodas being a monster, she can't answer.

Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I tell them he was not a monster, but we need to get back Diane's memories.
