Chapter 17

Siddharth and Rohan have been friends for a while now, to be precise after both Siddharth's and Rohan's company collaborated for a project. After that they became good friends, Sidharth was aware that Rohan had a past but Rohan never revealed anything about his past, Sidharth also knew about Yuktha but not kn detail.

Rohan is an economics graduate, he even did his masters in it, at first Rohan didn't want to take over his dad's company but he was pressured, therefore, he is now looking after it.

Flashback

Rohan met Aarthi when Aarthi was a final year nursing student

It was Aarthi's practical exam today, she had to demonstrate all her skills to her nursing supervisor for her to pass the course. Therefore, Aarthi woke up extra early, dressed herself neatly and tied her hair into the low bun. Aarthi has a tradition where she goes to the temple to pray and request before she enters her exams, after praying she got out of the temple and starting walking towards her nursing institute which was 5 minutes away from the temple.

It was a rainy day as well, she walked carefully avoiding the puddles. Suddenly a white BMW passed by splashing all the mud and water onto Aarthi's neatly ironed uniform and face. Without thinking, Aarthi entered immediately to the road and picked up a stone to throw but in the process, Aarthi didn't notice the car approaching her, the car behind her pressed the horn, the sudden noise scared Aarthi making her fall onto the puddle. The person who came in the car was no one other than Rohan, he stopped the car to check Aarthi was fine and from there,  love blossomed between them and their relationship remained strong for 4 years. However, they never crossed the limits in their relationship, many situations did arise where they could have had physical relations but Aarthi was adamant and determined to only have physical relations after marriage.

End of flashback...

After talking for some time Rohan went back to the hall where the event was taking place whilst Aarthi wiped her tears, her eyes were red and puffy by now. Siddharth observed her, what Rohan has communicated to her has definitely affected Aarthi.

"Shall we go home?" Siddharth asked Aarthi, she jumped hearing his voice all of a sudden from behind. "Yes," Aarthi replied and tried her best to form a smile. As they were leaving Aarthi's eyes searched for a particular person eventually her eyes met that persons, a thousand emotions passed through their eyes, abruptly Aarthi broke the eye contact. This did not get failed to get noticed by Siddharth...

During the car journey, both remained quiet, even though he didn't intentionally eavesdrop to their conversation it has affected Siddharth to the maximum extend. Aarthi did say she loves Siddharth to Rohan which gave him hope for a second but then he realised from her tone that it was probably fake. Siddharth didn't know why but he felt deeply hurt listening to their conversation and felt as of he is in the way of preventing Aarthi and Rohan's reunion. Siddharth clutched tightly into the steering, his knuckles looked as if it will pop anytime soon, the pressure Sidharth was going through was noticed by Aarthi but she didn't say anything.

Later they reached, without speaking much they both went inside, immediately Aarthi changed and sat under the shower and cried her heart out. She didn't know what to do... She believed she was the reason for Rohan's fate, but the idea of a future together with him didn't go well with Aarthi because she was too comfortable with Siddharth now...
The thought of leaving Siddharth scared her as she didn't want to leave him... But the contract was ending anyway soon...

After a long time, Aarthi came out of the washroom, she had changed her attire and was dressed in a kurta and palazzo pants. Siddharth had already changed and was sitting on the bed and was thinking of today's events when he noticed Aarthi coming out. He understood that she cried because her eyes were very red and puffy also she took more time than usual to shower. It ached Siddharth's heart to see Aarthi in this state. If she still loves Rohan then matter how much it'll hurt Siddharth he will step out of the way for Rohan and Aarthi.

"Aarthi" Siddharth gently said.

Aarthi's trance broke when Siddharth called out her name. "Hmm" Aarthi replied. "Are you ok?" Siddharth asked her to which Aarthi lied "yes".

" no, you are not Aarthi! Seeing Rohan today has affected you if I am right."
This came across as a shock for Aarthi, she looked up to Siddharth as a lone tear passed by. "I heard everything you two said Aarthi, so don't try too hard to make up something," Siddharth said which created a shock in Aarthi, due to that she stood there like a statue not knowing what to say next. Immediately she broke down allowing tears to stream down, seeing Aarthi crying uncontrollably like this deeply hurt Siddharth. Therefore, he tightly hugged Aarthi allowing her to release her feelings, Sidharth couldn't bear seeing Aarthi in this state, therefore he decided to do his part......
