You sat around for a few more days, listening to what the other people in your town thought about these statues. You didn't dare argue with them when they called said statues murderous monsters. They had no proof of this murder. And how could they be monsters when they don't hate anyone based on looks alone? Those who said they were monsters were the real monsters. They didn't know these statues. They didn't get to know them. How could they judge the statues based on appearance?
It made your blood boil how one could make up complete lies and myths about something without doing research or having seen it for themselves. People sucked. You had known this from the beginning. You couldn't help who you loved, so it wasn't bad to be falling in love with a Moai statue. But in the eyes of everyone in your town, they weren't simply statues. They were monsters.
You had decided one day to pack up some extra clothes, some food, some water, and run away with Stone. You were finally starting to accept your feelings for him. No, you weren't crazy. You weren't demented or deranged. You were experiencing a normal, human emotion for something that wasn't human. It wasn't any different from those who fall in love with anime characters, except that Stone was very real and you could hug and kiss him.
You wouldn't go as far as to say you were part of the LGBT community because you loved a statue; statue wasn't.. a gender. Just like you wouldn't say you're part of the LGBT community because you like Asains and only Asains. Asain wasn't a gender either.
After gathering your things and hiding them in your closet until nightfall, you went out and explained the plan to Stone. He was skeptical, as he didn't want to tear you from your family, but he also knew that you would be happier if you could love him in the open. So, though reluctantly, he nodded and agreed to run away with you. When nightfall came, you grabbed your bags and waited for Stone to come see you. He soon plucked the roof off of your home as if it was that easy, grabbed you and put you on his shoulder, then grabbed your stuff. He also grabbed a blanket and a pillow so you would be comfy.
Stone carried you in his hands, letting you sleep while he walked to a place that had plenty of food and water, but very few people. Those people just so happened to be like you, in love with a Maoi statue. You made friends, and even learned how to actually communicate with the statues. Sign language. You both learned sign language, he signed it, you read it.
You guys had a house together, built by him and decorated by you. This community was free of judgement and discrimination. It was perfect. You knew you could live a perfect life here with your boyfriend. Your Stone boyfriend. Soon to be Stone husband.
