the desert wasn't kosuke's favorite place to go and travel through but for this one mission, it was needed. him and kaito had planned to visit The Library as they overheard from a villager that it was a hidden library guarded by a spirit. kaito had apparently wanted to do some further research for his inventions and to improve his company. meanwhile kosuke had planned to just do more research among the knowledge of metal bending and possibly finding some keys to fix his mental health.
the duo had just came across a hideout of bandits and discovered a vehicle suited for the sand dunes long ahead of them. with desperation of needing a vehicle, kaito believed he could do some little adjustments to make it much more efficient and suited to his "rich" taste.
" alright hop on kosuke, lets take this some place safer so I can modify this baby! " kaito spoke a bit too loudly which allowed the bandits to hear his voice clearer then day from inside their base. kosuke huffed in annoyance as kaito was smart, but sometimes did the most obviously idiotic things to get them into trouble. the metal bender quickly hopped on and hurried up kaito to start the engine. as kaito shuffled around with the controls, kosuke began pushing the bandits back with his chains trying his best to just throw them unconscious. in no time, kaito was able to find the gas and got them out of there just as fast as they got there.
kaito and kosuke were able to pull over some place far and safe and took less then 10 minutes to upgrade the vehicle to the mechanic's preference. the two kept heading straight into the desert, hoping they were going the right way based on the compass kaito was following. they began to lose track of time with the sun beating on them and the sand blowing in their faces constantly.
soon enough, they reached a tall sandy structure with spirals embedded around it. the sight was astounding to see as they were tired of just seeing the same sand dunes and sand pits. kosuke let out a happy sigh of relief as he was actually glad they weren't lost. meanwhile kaito was sweating his ass off, huffing, and begging kosuke to hand his canteen of water over. kosuke chuckled as he reached into his pack and handed kaito the canteen.
" see, if i gave you the canteen while you were driving, you would've spilled it all over you, your "baby", and most definitely would've wasted a crap ton of water "
