| Chapter 9 ~ Triwizard champions |

A few weeks passed and almost everyone knew about Draco and Lily because Pansy saw them kissing told everyone. When the news got to Harry he got slightly pissed but after a few days he realised he couldn't control his sisters love interest, even if it was to a ferret like Malfoy.

A couple more weeks passed and everyone was told to meet in the great hall for something special. So after potions Lily and Ginny headed to the great hall where they met up with Draco, Harry, Hermione and Ron.
"Hey was-sup" Lily asked heading over to Draco and kissing his cheek
"hello my lovely" Draco said with a smug grin on his face.
They were chatting for a bit while the great hall filled up then they heard a stern strong voice echo amongst the hall.
"Sit down please" Dumbledore shouted
Everyone took there seats with an eager looks on their faces.
"Now the moment you have all been waiting for the champion selection!" He dimmed the fires lighting the hall causing everyone to murmur with excitement.

Dumbledore stepped towards the goblet.

Suddenly the fire turned red and shot out a piece of paper containing the name of the first triwizard champion.

Dumbledore opened it "The Durmstrang champion is... Victor Krum"

Everyone clapped and Krum stood up and walked into the back.

It went quiet again

Yet again Dumbledore approached the goblet and the flame turned red and out came the second triwizard champion's name

"The Beauxbatons champion is.. Fleur Delacour"

And again everyone cheered and clapped, Fleur stood up and exited the same way Krum left.

For the final time the hall became silent. The fire turned red and spit out the final champions name.

"The Hogwarts champion is.... Cedric Diggory"

The hall erupted with claps and cheers louder than either time before.

Cedric stood up with a smile looked over at Lily and winked then left the great hall. Draco realised what he did and Lily only nearly was able to him back a little help from Ginny. Cedric and Lily were very close friends they constantly met up outside of school when her dad was away.

"Draco" Lily managed to get the out with struggle.
"What he winked at you i am your boyfriend"
"Draco we are friends and he knows about you i don't like him" Lily said managing to get Draco to stop pulling.

"Excellent we now have our three champions" Dumbledore hollered extending his arms and turning around "but in the end only one will go down in history, only one will hoist this challenge of champions, this vessel of victory. The triwizard cup." Dumbledore finished turning around and pointing at the cup crouch had revealed.

Snape starts looking at the goblet confused and starts walking down the steps slowly. Dumbledore turns around and saw the fire getting out of control flying everywhere. Dumbledore's face drops he walks towards it and the flames turn red. It bursts out higher than before and shoots out a piece of paper slightly bigger and Dumbledore catches it.

He opens it and mumbles "Harry Potter and Lily Snape" everyone near him turn their heads.
"Harry Potter and Lily Snape" he shouts.

Lily and Harry's face's drop. Draco squeezes Lily's hand and edges her to go up. Lily takes Harry's hand and they walk up to Dumbledore.

They reach Dumbledore both very scared. He gives them the paper and they look at each other. They then continue walking to the where the other champions went.
Lily locked eyes with her dad and a tear runs down her face. He knows she didn't put her name in and she reaches him and touches his hand as they carry on through.

They two reach the room where the other three are Lily looks at Cedric and runs and hugs him crying her eyes out. He embraces her with a confused looks on his face.

Not long after the teachers come down to the room and Dumbledore approaches the siblings  asking them calmly if they put there names into the goblet of fire. They both answered no Lily shakily and Harry with a scared tone.

Snape enters the room and Lily runs and hides in his hug.
"Darling did you- did you- you know" Snape asked tense.
"No dad i would never I am too young and I don't want this surely I don't have to do it."

Snape looks at Dumbledore "Professor surely Lily and Potter don't have to do this tournament?"
"The rules are absolute, the goblet of fire constitutes a binding magical contract, Miss Snape and Mr Potter have no choice. They are as off tonight Triwizard Champions!" Crouch chimes in.

Lily sobbed into her dads chest hugging him tighter
Harry walks over to her sister and rubs her back "listen its ok we will do it together I wont let anything hurt you"

For the first and probably last time in his life Snape smiled at Harry for comforting his daughter.
