Riza POV

I felt numb. Alphonse had saved me. But my reason for living was gone. My eyes had poured an ocean already. I lay there in my hospital bed next to where he used to be. Where he died. I heard the door open but I kept staring at the ceiling.

"Lieutenant"
It was Alphonse.

"Alphonse?" I responded weakly.

"Hawkeye, thank goodness you're awake." I stared at him blankly

"I wish I wasn't." My statement shocked him for a moment. "Why?...why couldn't you let me die?" Tears streamed down my face again in massive heaps.

"I had to save you... I could not just watch you be torn apart by those things-"

"Like Roy?" I interrupted. I knew he was lost for words now. "I was injured very badly...Alphonse..."

"What is it?" He asked nervously.

"Do you like dogs?" He was taken aback by my question.

"Uh, yeah sure...why?"

"I can't live anymore, I might not make it...so" I started as he leaned closer "take care of Hayate for me, and send my love to Edward and Winry for me...love you a bunch, Al" I wheased out as my mind faded blank once more.

I woke up in a strange pink water. Like I was deep in an ocean. My hair down with no clothes or earrings. I looked down at my hands and body. Every part of me was , I could hardly figure out any details of myself. I was in liquid but I didn't feel the need to breathe. The surface began to feel closer and closer.

A shadow figure loomed over the surface as an arm stretched out into the water. My hands met theirs as the words "Join me, Riza." Echoed through the liquid like ripples.

I was pulled from the water onto a soft edge of land.

"Roy?..." I gasped out with the pinky colour of the room becoming more vibrant by the second. Tears flooded from my face. He was there. Right in front of me- dressed in a blue twinkling robe- my hands encased in his. He pulled me into an embrace which I melted into instantly.

"You must have cried a lot for your pool to be this deep. Just like mine"
He said referring to the water around us as he stroked my hair. "I wanted to be here with you, so I came to be the one to help you to the surface."

"What is this place?" I asked shakily. He continued to stroke my hair and slowly began to wrap me up in a strange fabric of some sorts. Only it wasn't like a fabric you'd expect. Like a sheet of thin mist you could hold.

"I woke up like this too. My ocean was  purple. I know now it was out of fear as I died." He began softly. "It was Maes who pulled me up. He took me out to the new place. An afterlife." I clung to him and soaked up his soft words like toast and butter. "The guys already here showed me the way to your pool so I could be the one to welcome you like Maes did for me... because I love you."

"I love you so much...I thought I lost you forever. I-i couldn't protect you a-and I felt s-so useless..." I sobbed against him and we held each other tighter. "I love you... I love you..." I repeated again and again between sobs. I felt his tears dribble down my neck to my stomach.

We stayed there for a while until we heard a door slide open revealing none other than Maes Hughes.

"Hey, is she ok to be brought out yet?" He asked Roy in a quiet gentle voice to which he responded with a simple nod of the head.

"Ok, we're gonna stand up now, then we're walking out to sort some stuff out ok?" He whispered to me.

My legs felt like jelly as we lifted off the ground and began walking step by step towards the exit. Looking over my shoulder, I saw a warm pink glowing cave and the pool of tears I rose from.

-I love this man-
