Maddy had been looking forward to this dinner all week. They had talked every evening and even sent texts throughout the day and everything was going so well between them, but Maddy was so nervous as she waited.

And after asking Lacy if she looked ok for the tenth time, Lacy made her sit and relax. "Maddy, you look great. Craig is going to be drooling all over you." "I hope so. I really do like him." "I know. I hear you giggling every night." Lacy groaned which made Maddy roll her eyes.

"Can't help it, he makes me laugh." "And that is what you need." "I hope so. Lacy, this might actually turn into something." Maddy said nervously. "Good. You deserve it. No, you go and have an amazing time and stay out way too late." Lacy hugged Maddy tightly and then sent her off when the doorbell rang.

"You look wonderful tonight." Craig held Maddy's hand as they waited to be seated. "You look pretty hot yourself." She giggled as she leaned on his arm. "Thank you. You make me feel hot." He leaned over and kissed her forehead. He was so sweet that Maddy could barely take it.

"How was your day?" She asked as they sat, and he told her about all the lawyer things he did. She had no idea what he meant half the time, but she did not care, it was nice to just talk about normal adult things.

"I have been meaning to ask you something, and it's ok if you say no, but...if you don't have plans, not next Saturday, but the following one, would you like to go with me to Trish's wedding?" Maddy asked nervously as they ate. She was so unsure if she should ask.

"I would love to go." Craig reached across the table and took her hand. "Really?" "Yes, did you think I wouldn't want to?" "I don't know. It's a big deal and we have only known each other a few days." "I would be happy to go. More time with you." Craig squeezed her hand.

"Well, I think Lacy invited Dave and Sara invited Dawson, so you will know people." "Even better. What color dress are you wearing?" "Why?" "I want to make sure I coordinate." "Aww, see, that is awesome. I will send you a picture of the colors." "Works for me."

"Now, I have another question." She bit her lip. "Ask away." He watched her as she fiddled with the fork on her plate. "I know you said you aren't much of an outdoor person, but I am going on a float trip with some friends this weekend and I was thinking maybe you might want to go."

"In a canoe?" "Yes. We would go down Friday night, camp out, then float on Saturday, then stay the night again and come home Sunday." She was smiling with hope but he suddenly looked nervous.

"Uh, Maddy, I am not really a rough it in the wilderness kind of person. The floating part I might be able to do, but not sleeping in a tent." "I thought men loved tents?" She laughed at his expression.

"Most men do. I however prefer inside, away from snakes and spiders." "I will protect you." She giggled, making him laugh. "I'm sure you would." "I would." She thought about curling up with him in the tent and it made her smile bigger.

"Do they have cabins?" Craig finally asked after a few minutes of thinking. "I think so." "If I can stay in a cabin with running water, then yes, I will go." "You don't have to. I mean if it is not your thing." "You are my thing, so I will." "Ok, let me see what they have in the way of lodging, but I really enjoy staying in the tent and the whole camping atmosphere."

"If it will be inconvenient, I don't have to go." "Not at all. I can get you a cabin. We can work it out and I will let you know." "Just give me details." "Ok." She smiled up at him, but inside she was disappointed. She really wanted him to go.

"If you go camping with me, then I guess we need to do something that you like." "I like hanging out with you." He winked. "Obviously, but what else? You can choose anything." She said as she took the dessert menu from the waiter.
