In the Land of Titans He Waits

Chapter 5. A New World

The bed I was made to sleep on in the cold dungeon wasn't particularly uncomfortable, it was better than the branch I had slept on last night at least. But what was uncomfortable was the two toned boy staring straight at me, from outside of my cell. Apparently they thought I might escape again so they were having the new recruits watch me in shifts.

"So what's your name, mines Jean.", he said with what looked like a forced smile. I decided to just ignore him and try to rest. "You're not much of a talker huh.", he said as he inched closer to my cell. I sat up in bed and shot him a glare before settling back down and pulling the covers over my head.

After about an hour or so the raven haired girl came down to guard me, I was glad to see her since she didn't seem to say much if anything at all. The only people I had seen her talk to so far was the so called boys named Eren and Armin.

I had a night of restless sleep so I was glad when morning had finally come, and Erwin and the other two adults came to let me out. "Before we let you out we have some rules.", Erwin said as he looked down on me. "What rules?", I asked getting out of the bed and putting my sneakers back on.

"Rule one you are not aloud to leave the property of the Scout Regiment unless one of us three grant you permission, rule two if anyone we haven't introduced to you asks who you are, tell them you're a new recruit of the Scout Regiment, rule three you must know how to use odm gear and come on expeditions with us.", Erwin stated. "What's odm gear and what expeditions are you talking about?", I asked.

"This may sound fake to you seeing as you supposedly know nothing about this world, but in this world there are only about 1,250,000 individuals left due to humanoid creatures we call titans, they range from 3 meters to 50 meters tall and eat humans, ignoring any other lifeform. We the Scout regiment venture into titan territory to reclaim land in the name of humanity. Recently we reclaimed the Trost district which was invaded by titans and two titan shifters, the armored titan and colossal titan.", Erwin explained.

"If all of what you're saying is true then how did the titans enter the walls in the first place and what are titan shifters?", I replied.

"Titan shifters are enemies of humanity who work with the titans, they first appeared 5 years ago when they breached wall Maria and killed thousands. But recently we found out that Eren,the brunette boy you met earlier also has the ability to shift into a 15 meter titan, which helped us reclaim the Trost district.", Erwin stated.

"I see, I will follow you're rules and learn the ways of the scout regiment, it's not like I have anywhere to go home to anyways.", I replied as Erwin reached into his pockets pulling out the key to my cell.

"Thanks for the cooperation.", he said as he opened the door to my cell.

After our discussion I was led upstairs to the main floor, but before we went anywhere else Erwin stopped me. "Next I'll introduce you to our other new members of the Survey Corps, there's about 22 of them but only 11 of them know about your situation, so I gathered those 11 here in the dining hall to introduce to you.", Erwin explained. "Also before you met them I'll show you to your room upstairs and give you our official uniform which you can change into."

After explaining the situation he led me upstairs and to a vacant room at the end of the hallway, he then handed me a change of clothes and told me he would wait for me outside.

The room's window was opened but this time I wasn't thinking of jumping out of it instead I was thinking of how so much had happened in so little time, I mean really titans? How am I supposed to believe there's a bunch of huge human like monsters that roam around eating people for fun?!

But it's not like I knew about this strange place I had been transported to, and they really had no reason to lie, so I'm better off believing them then not.

After collecting my thoughts I changed into the uniform I was given. It was comprised of a white button up shirt, white pants, a brown cropped blazer with wings on it's front pocket and back, brown boots and brown straps that went around my whole body and took me forever to put on, I was surprised that Erwin guy wasn't getting impatient with me.

After putting on the uniform I headed outside where Erwin was and followed him back down stairs to the dining hall. Once we arrived he knocked once and the door was almost immediately opened by the boy I had come to know as Eren. "Hello Commander Erwin we're all ready for you, even Hange and Captain Levi are here.", Eren said his eyes gleaming.

"Hello everyone, as Hange and Levi have probably explained this is (y/n), she will be joining the Survey Corps starting today, she knows nothing of our world and we know nothing of hers so we intended to exchange information about both and keep this all a secret from the other regiments.", Erwin explained. As he continued talking about my situation and where I had come from I could feel that everyone had started to stare at me, but I just kept a straight face like always.

"Also Hange will be doing a random draw after breakfast for one person to show her around, one person to teach her how to use odm gear and one person to teach her our history.", Erwin added.

Well this was news to me at least.

Some people looked excited, some looked uninterested and others looked confused, but that didn't matter to me as long as I didn't have to go back to my old way of life, plus this place seemed pretty interesting for what it's worth.
