chapter 1

hi ;)

late on wednesday night, donghyuck, renjun, jeno, jisung, jaemin, and chenle all arrive at renjun's house exhausted.

after school, they played (and won) two back-to-back basketball games, as they were heading into the playoffs, then went out for dinner with the team right after.

they all were ready to pass out, except for maybe donghyuck.

the boys all head up to renjun's room

donhyuck finds himself glancing at renjun's twin, meili's, shut door.

"she still wont talk to you, huh?" he asks renjun, the boy sadly shaking his head.

"i mean she still talks to me occasionally, she kind of has to, but its just... weird," the chinese boy runs a hand through his caramel-coloured hair, visibly upset.

renjun and meili werent exactly close like they used to be.

nothing big happened between the two, meili just one day stopped hanging out with her brother and gave him the cold shoulder all the time.

renjun would try ask her what was going on and she wouldnt answer, just avoiding the boy every way she could.

they didnt fight at all, they never did, and meili even used to hang out with him and the rest of dream all the time.

the girl used to be really close with their whole group, ecspecially jeno, jaemin, and mark (who graduated already), so it hurt the rest of the boys as well when she stayed away.

whenever they would come over she would end up leaving the house or locking herself in her room so they couldnt say hi.

but they all respected that she wanted to stay away, not wanting to end on bad terms with the girl.

"its been 3 years, nothings going to change," renjun sighs out.

"so your just going to give up?"

"well what else am i supposed to do?" the boy argues, sensitive to the topic.

"its our last year of high school, don't you want to at least try to fix things before you go your separate ways to college?" hyuck argues back.

"what makes you think i haven't tried?" renjun cries. "i dont want to talk about this right now. lets just go to sleep, we have school in the morning."

he quickly heads off to his room, leaving hyuck in the hallway.

donghyuck was never the closest with meili, so he wasn't exactly sure why he was picking a fight with renjun about her.

but he had always felt an unexplainable connection to her.

his eyes linger on her door a little linger before heading into renjun's room.
