A/N: This is a small drabble I wanted to work on because I l o v e angst
Trigger Warning: Death, character death, blood
He was barely able to keep his lungs and heart working, but he still made do.
He laid a little farther away from you, and even though his blurry and bloodshot eyes, he could see the stillness of your body.
It was been rising heavily just a couple of seconds ago, but the pool of blood that circled you could only say otherwise.
His fingers reached out for your, bruised and swollen, and a few words fell past his busted lips.
From the sirens in the background to the pounding in his ear, he couldn't hear much, but he fell that thumping of boots behind him, and soon enough he felt his body being gingerly lifted onto a gurney.
He looked behind him to see if you were being handled with the same treatment, but he only watched as they covered you in a white blanket, being hauled in another direction.
"Th-that's," He murmured, and he saw a pair of eyes lock into his.
"Sir, what's wrong, what are you saying? Can you breathe?" Bakugo limply nodded, but he pointed towards where you had been lying.
"That's my wife, please," He coughed violently, and somebody held him down to ease the racketing, "Please save her."
"Save her first, then me, please," He looked pleadingly across the sea of faces, but they had all stopped listening when they realized that there was nothing left of what they could do.
"(Y/n), darling," He closed his eyes after a couple of minutes of trying to talk, but failing, understanding why you had chosen to rest rather than keep your lids open,
"This is it, darling," He heaved some air out before he shut his eyes, opening them a final time to see you right next to him,
"This is the end, isn't it?"
And he closed them, feeling your faint touch against his, the warmth he always sought out seeping through his skin.
It wasn't so bad, he thought to himself,
It wasn't so bad is he was able to see you one last time.
