Hello internet! This is my first story published online EVER, so idk how this will go. I hope yall enjoy. Feel free to give criticism, or just talk randomly, idc. Okay, NOW READDDD.“Why don’t we all sneak out tonight?” For normal, rational people the answer to that is simple. “No, that’s not okay to do without our parents permission.” But in my defense, that entire night was filled with terrible decisions.
My name is Quincey, and at the time I was fourteen, just starting high school with my best friends: Cameron, Noelle, and Alison. I loved them to death, but they could be irrational and thick-headed sometimes, I often had to keep everyone out of trouble.
The afternoon of our disastrous adventure, all four of us were hanging out in a large field.
Alison was complaining about her parents tight leash around her and how little freedom she had. She loved getting back at them and being rebellious. Cameron, being the helpful friend she is, brought up how she used to sneak out to wander the city. Alison immediately loved the idea and was set on all of us sneaking out.
I should have shot this down immediately, but I knew Alison and Cameron would probably sneak out anyway, so I'd be there to keep them safe. We all agreed to meet at the nearby park at midnight and hang out for a while.
Now, dressed in the darkest clothes I own, I planned my daring escape: get down the stairs undetected, go through the garage and out the side door leading to the backyard, then jump the fence. Easy enough, I thought, for Tom Cruise maybe. Walking as slowly and quietly as I could, I started down the stairs.
In the middle of my descent, I heard something coming towards me. I didn’t have time to think as a soft, warm thing rammed into the side of my foot.
It took all my balance to stay standing on the stairs and all my willpower not to scream at this sudden attack.
I looked down at my feet to find a beautiful set of blue eyes staring back at me. Seriously Miso, you trying to kill me now? My cat, Miso, looks at me.
“What’s that look for, dumb human owner?” I imagine my cat saying.
“YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!” I whisper yell to Miso. I hurriedly walked through the garage to the backyard with Miso on my heels. I try to quietly throw myself over the fence.
With lots of effort and about zero grace, I get over and say goodbye to my cat as I run in the direction of the park.
Looking around for my friends, I see Noelle and Alison looking at Cam’s phone. I didn't know what to expect as I walked over to them.
I look at the screen and see one of Cameron’s other friends sent her an invite to a party. “No way, not while I’m alive.” I blankly tell them. Noelle looks at me and hugs me.
I have to bend over to hug her back since she’s sitting on a bench, and I’m behind the bench. Let’s just say it was unnecessarily difficult.
“Thank you!” She finally let’s go of me and I breathe. “I’ve been trying to tell them that it's a terrible idea.” She glares at them.
“But it would be my first party! And it's literally right there!” Alison whines, and points to a dark blue house in the line of houses that makes up the park’s border. “We could make it quick!”
“Didn't you hear me? We're already outside when none of us are supposed to be, this is asking way too much Alison.” I say with folded arms, she doesn't even seem phased by my light glare.

ContoHonestly, I made this story for my most recent ELA project. We were writing suspence story's, and the most scary/suspenseful thing I could think.of was sneaking out of my house at night......and obviously the things that happen afterword. (Maaaaaay...
