Ch. 1: Drama Night
Hi, my name is Joel and this is my journal. In the coming chapters you will learn the fate of my friends and I as we stumble upon a secret covered up by our school. When I was in the 9th grade, I needed to join a club in order to graduate. So, I had decided to go into drama. Luckily I had some friends who also joined with me, Hannah and Syndie both having the same sort of parts as me, (We were props out in the lobby. Syndie and I were vampires, and Hannah was some sort of axe murderer, I think).
So, we had some time to goof around while the show was going on. The show lasted for a while, so we all went upstairs where it was dark. Hannah and Syndie ran off without me, I freaked out, so I ran after them. I had lost them instantly, and I didn't want to make a big fuss about it and yell for them. So I continued to run around in the dark blindly, I looked behind me, and I slammed into an open locker. Dazed, I looked up at what appeared to be Hannah and Syndie standing over me, although when I blinked... they had disappeared.
"W-What?" I mumbled, confused.
I stood up, still confused and worried about where Hannah and Syndie were, as I continued through the halls. My pace was now at a walk, I decided that my efforts were pointless.
I said to myself; "Ugh, I should have just stayed in the lobby..."
I, now sighing, returned to the lobby, where the girls were waiting for me at the top of the stairs they had left me at. They too looked confused, and Hannah noticed I was bleeding from the forehead.
Hannah asked me concerned, "Are you alright? What the hell made you run off like that?"
I said to her, slightly annoyed, "I'm fine, but you're the ones who ran off..."
Syndie stepped in, also worried, "We never ran off, but you... you just ran past the stairs without saying a word.."
"But I saw you guys! You both ran off that way and I ran after you." I said pointing towards the right of the stairs. Syndie and Hannah both grabbed me by the arm, and brought me to the auditorium, which wasn't too far from the stairs. Hannah went in and grabbed the attention of a teacher, who happened to be Mr. Happkin, our principal at the time.
I thought to myself, 'Oh god, not this guy...'
He looked me over, and gave me this look like I've just committed first degree murder. Mr. Happkin said to me, "Whelp, the nurse isn't here, but you'll be fine, just get some paper towels and try not to bleed on the carpets... What happened anyways?"
I explained what had happened, but left out some parts, embarrassed. "I was stupidly running around and I hit my forehead on a locker door."
Mr. Happkin looked at me again, and asked, "Where was this locker?"
I tried to remember exactly where the locker was. Although it was dark, I remembered seeing the number 221 in white lettering on a door. We all traveled upstairs to find the room number, and the locker I ran into. Soon, we found the room number, and further down the hall, a locker, which had its door slammed shut, with my blood smeared on it. The locker's number read 666.
'Heh, creepy.', I thought to myself, jokingly.
Mr. Happkin looked over the locker and took some of the paper towels I had out of my hand and wiped down the locker door. "You shouldn't run around the halls like that. See what happens?" Mr. Happkin said, looking at me judgingly. (I've never liked that man, he would always undermine me.) We later went back downstairs because the show was ending soon. It was almost time for the guests to go home and for us to remove our makeup and go home as well. My best friend at the time, Justin worked the lights and sound during the show, so we didn't see him besides at the start of the show and after all of the guests had left. As the guests left, we started packing up, and the principle was now long gone.
