WREN THOMAS
After a week of detention, a week of being grounded and a week of being called the school freak, I can officially say I am free!
Mostly, the school freak part is still there!
"So, party time?" Lacey asked, nudging my side as we walked down the halls of our school.
I shook my head, "I would. But I'm on Dad probation." I sighed, opening my locker, "Didn't you say Michael high fives you, though?" Lacey questioned, picking at her chipped nail polish.
I shrugged, "Yeah but he's not my Dad. He's my Dad's boyfriend. It's different."
I closed my locker, gripping my binder and two books I had as I tried to juggle them on one arm.
"How though? They live together, they drive you places, they both raise you, how is it different?" Lacey asks me again.
"I don't know, it just is. But on another note, I wish I could go to the party with you, but unless you want me to be grounded for another week, I'll take my chances and stay at home."
Suddenly, my books fell to the floor with force as I huffed, glaring at Sebastian who walked past with Billy and his band of goons.
"Real mature Sebastian. What is this, 1986?"
"You were in my way sweetheart, I was just trying to avoid running into you, my bad though." He geeked, glancing at my spilled books on the floor.
People glared at me as they hopped over my pages, whispering about me.
I rolled my eyes, bending down to pick my books up, "He seriously needs someone to put him in his place. How come you got into trouble, not him?" Lacey said angrily.
"It's called favouritism. The principal loves him for some reason. I don't know why though, he's a jerk!" I frowned, annoyed that my books were muddled up now.
"Here." Someone said, holding out my now messed up notes.
"Oh- thank you." I smiled, taking them off Garett. My eyes met his briefly and he gave me a shy smile, before walking off.
"I saw that." Lacey giggled, catching up with my strides, "What are you talking about?"
"I saw that little interaction between you and Garett. That was so hot? Eye contact?" Lacey blabbed. I ignored her until she took a breath, "What you saw was an interaction between friends." I smiled.
"Yeah, friends who kissed!"

As the final bell rang for the end of the day, I was more than happy to get home. It was only Monday, and I felt like my brain was about to explode.
This past week at school was the most exciting school week ever!
Everyone immediately stormed out of the classroom but I took my time to put everything away. My notes took my AGES to put back together, I'd rather not have to organise them again.
I felt a tap on my shoulder as I was shoving my things into my bag. I turned around, expecting to see the teacher, but it was Garett.
"Hey, how'd you know I had Government this period?" I smiled, zipping up my bag, "Uh, I may have asked around for you." He grinned, giving me a half faced smile, "Well, asked Lacey, actually."
"Why's that?" I questioned, beginning to walk towards the door.
"Well I kinda wanted to ask you if you'd grab a drink with me later tonight." He grinned.
I nodded, "Um, sure, where should I meet you?" I asked. I tightened the strap on my schoolbag as I felt it slipping off my shoulder.
"I can pick you up, I mean if you want?" He asked. I made a face, "Not a good idea?" Garett questions and I shook my head, laughing.
We managed to make it to the parking lot as I unlocked my car, hearing it beep.
"I wouldn't. My Dads are a little how would you say... forward." I giggled, "Okay then." He paused, "How about Joes Coffee, 7pm?"
I nodded, "I'll see you then." Garett smiled once more before I watched him round the corner.
As I was about to climb into my car, a voice interrupted my thoughts.
"That was cute."
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, he is."
"What? Are you two going on a little coffee date? Is he going to drive you home, give you a kiss at your front door while your Dads watch through the window?" He smirked, walking over to me.
I crossed my arms over my chest, "No. Because I'm not cliche."
"Could've fooled me." He scoffed, brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"You know what, I don't have time for this. You are irrelevant and I am late. Goodbye now."
He grabbed my arm before I could move, "Might want to be careful. Old habits die hard." He winked before turning on his heel and heading to his car.
I wanted to know what he meant but before I could, I heard a small thud and looked down.
A leather cover notebook was at my feet. I picked it up, about to give it back to Sebastian but he rolled out of the parking lot before I could.
I opened the book, hoping to find a number or somewhere I could return it too.
But when I opened it, there were drawings.
I bit my lip, these are actually pretty amazing. His shading, the way he captured everything perfectly. It's almost like a picture.
There was fruits, the city, a skyscraper, cars, lots of cars.
He even managed to draw the Eiffel Tower.
I scoffed, "Okay Mr Artist, I see you." I mumbled under my breath, looking at the drawing of a shoe that had very detailed colouring.
I was about to put it away when something caught my eye.
My breath hitched as I flipped to a drawing of a girl, lots of drawings of girls.
There was half drawn ones, big sized, small scaled. I had to squint to try and make out her face.
I gasped as I flipped through to the last pages.
Am I really seeing this right now?
The girl was me.
