Chapter Two:

The next day after I had awoken from my sleep I went down to the kitchen, to see what my brothers were making for breakfast. " How did you sleep Wendy?" Asked John. " I....It was fine" I replied still waking up. I did not know if I should tell my brothers about hearing Peter trying to calm me down in my sleep and kept it a secret. " Did you have any nightmares from being stuck in Neverland? You seem awfully worried." Asked Michael. " No, no. I am fine, no nightmares.
Mmmh, do I smell bacon?" " Yes you do Wendy. " said John as he flipped the eggs. My brother Michael sat next to me. " Wendy, do you know what today is?" He asked. I pondered for a minute then remembered the it was my birthday. I forgot about my birthday, I was still on Neverland time. " It's your 16 birthday Wendy. Are you feeling okay?" He asked me a bit concerned. " Like I said a minute ago, I am fine." As the day went on I kept day dreaming. Day dreaming about Peter. How he smiled around me, how his laugh was contagious only to me, how his eyes sparkled that emerald green shine, and how soft his hair was. "SNAP OUT OF IT MIND!!! THIS IS NOT THE TIME FOR DREAMING!" I thought to myself. When I finally came back from day dreaming, school was over and the bell rang while I was day dreaming. "Oh no! My brothers are probably worried sick about me..." On that note I was off on my way home. When I got home, all the lights were off and there were no cars out side in the drive way. I walked inside and to my surprise, my brothers and all my friends were throwing a birthday party for me. Throughout the party, I kept seeing Peter's face. On the walls, the balloons, the door, even on my birthday cake. The party ended. " Finally, who knew being 16 was like this..." I said to myself exahsted and ready to plop down on my bed. I finally went to sleep. Without even knowing, he was back. Peter was back. He entered my room when he knew I was far enough asleep that I wouldn't notice him come in. He walked over to my bed and sat down next to me carefully. I never thought Peter was nice because of how he was around the boys. And if he kept you in a cage for a century, you would think that too, but the secret was is that he was nice, but only to me. He never showed it though. As I slept, Peter rubbed my leg for comfort to me, he could tell I was tense from dancing all night. I thought it was John and didn't wake up. I smiled in my sleep and he smiled too. "Oh Wendy, how adorable you are when you sleep. If only I could have watched you in Neverland." He said pretending I could hear him. He thought I wasn't feeling well and felt my face several times. When I felt the size of his hand, I slowly woke up and he remained checking my temperature. I think he just wanted to touch my face. " Peter? " I said sleepily " Happy birthday Wendy. " he replied with a warm smile. I sat up slowly and looked at him. " Why are you here Peter? " " I have a birthday surprise for you back in Neverland Wendy. Plus I came to see my favorite person. " " And who would that be? Felix is in Neverland. " I replied. " You." He responded. " But what if my brothers see you?" " They won't. Now come on, get up, the boys are waiting for us back home." I didn't know what they were up to, but for once I knew Peter was being kind and unlike his usual self. I decided to trust him and got out of bed. I was sure he wasn't going to ruin my birthday.
