Maeve Tomlinson

The last few days were just horrible. The boys were over at our house all the time during the day and then they went out to party. The hangover I had after the first day was enough reason for me to not go out after that.

They usually came back in the morning, looking all homeless and sleep deprived. Then they'd collapse on either the couch or Louis' bed.

We leave tomorrow, and I still haven't heard from Aidan. I shouldn't expect to, but it would've been nice to atleast have one conversation.

"Maeve! Your phone's fucking ringing!" Louis runs into the room, chucking my phone at me. I had left it upstairs when I came down for breakfast, not wanting to be staring at it waiting for her to call. I really wanted to figure out what was wrong with us so I kept replaying every memory I had of us, just hoping to get a sliver of a hint. Thinking about anything I could've done wrong.

"Hello?" I answer the phone, a bit annoyed to be interrupted while eating. as you can imagine, I like to eat my breakfast without getting phone calls, and without Louis running into the room and chucking something at me. It's always nice to have your brother throw something at you isn't it?

"I'll come." I hear Aidan's voice on the other side. "Maybe it will be nice, you and me spending time together away from all our problems." She sounds different, a bit shy and apprehensive. Different for her. But it's kinda nice.

"Really, babe? Oh that's amazing! I love you so much." I reply excitedly in a rush. I wasn't expecting her to agree and this was obviously a great surprise. "I'll send you the details and everything. Just pack for however long you want to stay." Hopefully she'll pack for two months.

"Sure. I love you too, Maeve. I'll call again later, bye." She hangs up without waiting for me to answer but I was too thrilled to be bothered to care about it.

"Louis! Louis!" I shout while running to the stairs when I accidentally collide into him. Lovely. He always seems to be purposely running into me, he must love just knocking into me whenever he has the chance. I'm must seem like a big bowling pin, ready to be knocked down.

"Woah there Summer. Watch where you're going." He says with an amused expression, probably laughing at me internally but I didn't give a shit. He's not going to bother me. Not today.

Aidan was gonna visit and we were going to be fine. I knew us enough to realize that we could solve our problems like adults and I had not wasted my time and energy pining over her while she couldn't care less. But she did care. And she was coming. We can fix all this stupid shit going on between us.

He had grabbed me by my shoulders trying to catch my eyes and he looked confused, probably trying to comprehend my silly smile. This made me smile even more and I pushed him out of the way. He's the bowling pin know. He could take a big tumble down the stairs for all I care. Actually that would be kinda funny, watching Harry fall down the stairs, after I pushed him the slightest bit. If only.

"Lou! She said yes! She's gonna come with us tomorrow!" I shout in excitement, pulling Louis into a hug which he returns, patting my back softly.

"Let's go tell mum and dad," he whispers into my ear, pulling away from the hug.

I probably look like a clown, I've got the biggest grin on my face. It's been so long since I've smiled like that and god damn, I fucking missed it. It feels great. I've missed that feeling when your cheeks start to hurt a little bit because you've been smiling for so long.

"May," Is all I hear as Harry tugs at my arm, pulling me into a dark room. The lights flick on and I finally see him properly. Stupid face didn't take a tumble and is right in front of me, and sadly didn't take a tumble.
