I was in too much pain to actually move. Tears were still falling when I seen my brother, Victor. "I'm in so much pain." He laughed at me softly. "Hold still Little Sister." He leaned over slowly. He kissed my forehead like he always do. Vic lifted my arm, it was snapped, it was painful. "Well, your body is pretty beaten up, Luna." He said while sighing softly. He got up and walked to the other side of the factory. He came back with first aid shit. It hurt... "What happened to mom and dad?" I whispered as he fixed my arm. "They.... Didn't make it." He whispered.
A pain unlike my broken arm seeped into my chest. "But..." He started. He looked at me with a small, sad smile. "I put them out of their misery." I nodded softly. "That should hold till i can get a real cast." He said while sighing. He listened to the cars and motorcycles parking into the driveway to the factory. "Once everyone get into here, we have to close and seal the doors seeing that you broke into it no sweat." I nodded softly.
People pilled inside. Daryl and Merle were going at it again, about me and him. "Where's Luna?" Asked Dale. "I'm up here with my brother." I cried out. Dale came up, along with everyone else. "Victor J. Income." Said Vic as he gave a little bow. "Oh wow..." Whispered Andera. I rolled my eyes softly, sighing. "Dale can you fix me?" "I will try." "Right, guys we need to seal those doors." Called Vic as he passed me to the doors. Daryl sat next to me, looking at me. "How are you doin'?" He asked me. I smiled. "I'm doing good." I winked.
Dale gently cut off the top of my shirt, right before my breasts. "Jesus..." He whispered. I looked down in pain. Two ribs were poking out of my skin. Same with my collar bone. "Damn..." "Yeah. Its going to hurt." Dale said while looking at me. I nodded softly. He pushed down on the ribs, I screamed in pure pain. Daryl held me down to keep me from moving around. It hurt so bad! Dale worked quickly on the open wounds. Now the collar bone... Vic came running up, pushing Dale away. "You remember that day we were deplores?" He asked smiling. I smiled back, I nodded quickly. "Yeah that was fun huh? The party and everything!" He pushed the collar bone into place.
I muffled a scream. Daryl covered my mouth. Tears fell. It hurt so bad... So bad...
I fainted...
When I awoke, I was all bandaged up and Daryl was sleeping next to me. His arm was resting on my hip, since my ribs would hurt me. It was morning by the way the sun came through the boarded up windows. I stretched without hurting myself. I painfully got up. Vic was up already. Making coffee. "Morning." He said muck like. I smiled, I raspily whispered, "Morning." "Seems like you are healing fast." He smiled. "We are both are different you know." I smiled softly. I closed my eyes softly.
Carl was up, there was another voice. A girl voice... "What?" I whispered, following the voice. I stopped a small room that was a childs room. Carl was playing with a little girl. About 9. "Cute isnt she? I saved her before I got here. She was trapped." Said Vic who came behind me. "Whats her name? Where are her parents?" I asked. "She doesn't have any... Her name is Crystal." I walked up to the blond little girl. I knelt down beside her. "Hi, Im Luna." "Hi," she was a shy girl. I smiled. "You like it here?" She nodded.
"You know we are here to protect you." She nodded quickly. "What you guys playing?" I asked. Carl explained the game of the tiny toys and I played with them. Before long, I didnt know people were awake. Daryl was leaning against the door, smiling softly. "Hey city girl, breakfast is ready." I got up, holding my hand towards Crystal. She grabbed it, looking up at me with sad eyes. We walked to the table, everyone stared at Crystal. She hid behind me, shy and embarressed. "This is Crystal guys." "Is she your daughter?" Asked Lori. I laughed and so did Victor. "No, she isnt ours. If i found out she was pregnant, i would kill her then whoever knocked her up." I just rolled my eyes slowly.
Daryl put an arm around my waist. "If she does. It would be by me." Victor snapped his head towards Daryl. He had an evil eye towards him. "What did you say?" He hissed at Daryl. "Vic, stop he was just kidding, werent you Daryl?" I asked with a small smile. "Yeah I was, until you ready." He gripped my waist softly, leaning in and kissing my lips softly. Victor was getting pissed... Daryl pulled away, staring at me with a small smile. My face went red. I sat down, crystal sat on one side. Daryl went to sit by me, but Victor suddenly stold the seat by me and glared at Daryl. Oh this wont end well...
"You lay off my sister, stupid redneck." That blew him up. "You got something to say you stupid freak?" They were getting into each other's faces. "Actually I do! Your no good for my sister, she can do better!" "And who would that be? A dead football player? Oh maybe a zombie geek? If you havent notice we are in a war between millions of zombies and us humans. The chances of her even finding a good guy you will approve is slim to fuckin non!" Shouted Daryl. I covered Crystal's ears. "Enough both of you!" I hissed. They still went at it. "At least a walker would be better then some redneck hill billy like you!" Now fists were involved.
I jumped to my feet, I jumped in between them, only to be shoved out of the way. I hit my back against the table. I cried in pain. That made them both stop to stare at me. I stood up, my pride wasnt going to break. I stared at them with hate. I grabbed my food and went to the childrens room. Crystal followed right behind me. I sat at a little chair, munching away at my breakfast. I felt two tiny hands at my back, lifting my shirt up. I looked back to see Crystal. I looked back at the mirror behind me. My jaw almost dropped out of my skull. There was already a black and blue mark on my back...i winced.
There was a knock on the door as Merle walked in. "Hey, you alright?" I nodded, still eating. "You don' look like it." He mumbled. He pulled a tiny chair next to me. "Why does my brother think its okay to fight with someone I like so much?" I asked. "Him and I aren' to different. He only wants best for you, like I want best for my little bro. Sorry I snapped at you." He said. "Its okay, at least you explained yourself." He smiled a little. "Might as well tell Daryl, you ain' much into talkin' righ' now." He said, getting up. "Thanks." I said while smiling. "No problem, city girl." He walked out.
Crystal and I played with barbies for a while. That was until Victor came in. "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it." I said without looking. "Let me at least understand why you like that as-" he stopped lookin at Crystal who was payin attention now. "Meanie." I chuckled. "You know he's right though..." I said. "I won't find the right guy. But he is the closest thing that has been making me happy. I love being by him. I love how he makes me smile. The way he makes me feel... Its hard to explain. He doesn't see me as a freak. But a human being." I looked at Vic. "I think I love him..."
Victor sighed, sitting next to me. "Your old enough to make your own choices... I just won't accept him till he has a ring on your finger. Then I have to accept him." He said. "Yes... Getting married where there are zombies everywhere..." I rolled my eyes. "Not a real marriage. But at least a ring." He stared at me. I nodded. "I know Vic." He gave me a kiss on my forehead and left.
I played with Crystal and her dolls for a good hour. Daryl walked in. "Want to go outside?" I blinked. "Outside?" I asked. "Yeah, through the back way where there is a fence and everything." I nodded. He smiled, looking at Crystal. "Want to go out too?" She nodded. We walked to the back yard. Crystal looking around, smiling. "Wow. Its beautiful." I whispered. Daryl held my hand. "I'm sorry about breakfast." He whispered. I smiled. "It's alright. Its in the past." I kissed his cheek gently to show it was alright. Crystal was playing by the fence with her dolls.
"Careful Crystal." I called out. She nodded. "I have always wanted kids." I said. Daryl stared at me. "Well, you have a kid to take care of." Crystal walked up to me, grabbing my hand and tugged it. She pulled me towards the fence. "What is it, Crystal?" I asked. She pointed past the gates. I looked ahead, smiling. That smile disappeared when I seen what she was pointing at. "Walkers!" I cried. I picked her up and ran into the factory. "Walkers!" That startled everyone. "They won't get in here, the fence is too strong." "Then tell them that." I pointed. Everyone surrounded the boared up windows. Walkers, tons of them, were trying to knock down the fence. And so far, the walkers were winning. "Alright, listen up. Glen, lead the girls upstairs and Carl. Rest of you, grab weapons. This is going to be a bloody war." Vic shouted. As he barked orders, everyone got into position. Crystal stood there, looking up at me. Her eyes were sad. "Go with Carl, Crystal." I whispered. She shook her head quickly.
"Why Crystal?" I asked. "Thats what my mom said before she never came back for me." Whispered Crystal. "I promise I am not your mom." I said. I leaned over, kissing her forehead. She nodded and rushed up the stairs. She stopped and stared at me. I waved, smiling. She nodded and ran up the rest of the stairs. "Here." Vic said, handing me my long lost kantara. "So you had it all this time." I glared. "Hey, you dropped it when you left." He laughed.
We went outside. I was on the front line with me and my brother. Everyone else were behind us. I lowered my kantara to hip level, pointin at the walkers who now pushes over the fence and began to flooded inside...
