Chapter Four: The Truth

I screamed, backing away from the body. Soon Daryl, Dale, Glen and Rick all ran towards me. I stared at Daryl. "Did you get bit again?!" Asked Daryl, running to check for wounds. "No, i killed a walker by just staring at it." "There is no way you killed a walker by staring at it, Luna." Explained Rick. "But I did!" I shouted at him. "I just began growling and the walker just fell dead right there!"

"Are you on drugs?" Asked Daryl. "I wouldnt be lying on something like this." I glared. I suddenly went silent, it had to be the walker's bite... The chromosones must have mixed with something the walkers had. The two messed up ones... "It's about time.. I tell you guys what really happened to me while I was in the military.." I whispered quietly. They stared at me. Waiting. "I was an experement on new project to make military troups smarter, faster and stronger than anyone. While I was getting tested on, something went wrong. The only people who accepted the new virus was me... And my brother. Everyone else died on contact of the virus."

I took a deep breath. "I no longer wanted to be there, being tested on. So I tried to leave. Only they wouldn't allow me. I had to fight my way out of there... I was dangerous. Changing my chromosones were dangerous. Now i think its mixed with something from the bite had in it... Something that kills on contacted." I whispered. "So.. All this time... You were lying to us?" Asked Daryl. "I never said I lied. I said i was in the military. I was beaten by a man. I had a fucked up life okay?" I shouted. I sighed deeply.

"I didn't want to tell you guys because... I didnt think it was this deadly." Everyone was silent. Tears now fell down my cheeks. It was getting light out. The sun shined on my eyes. Everyone stood there shocked. "Luna... Your eyes are red." I heard Rick said. I blinked. "That.... Cant be true." "But it is the truth." "Im a freak..." I whispered. Strong arms wrapped around me.c "Dont say tha' city girl... Dont ever say tha'." I was silent as the tears fell. I leaned against Daryl and kept silent. Yeah he was an asshole at times, but he was caring, though he doesnt usually show it.

Then there was a loud scream coming from the camps. We rushed back there to see Carl had fell. Off... His.... Treefort? Rick rushed to his help. I smiled, Carl was alright, just startled. Suddenly i was shoved violently out of the way. It was Ed.... "Get up you lazy ass women! Time to do the clothes now!" I growled, feeling anger built up inside me. "Your such a lazy pig!" I screamed. Ed spun around with hate in his eyes. Merle was leaning against a tree with his brother. Ed came up to me, face to face. "Got something to say woman?" "You sexiest pig." I hissed. A stinging cheek burst into redness.

He hit me pretty hard. I watched as Daryl came out of nowhere, tackling Ed to the ground and punching him repeatly in the face. It was so bad, Merle actually had to pull him off of Ed. "You ever touch a woman again, your going to be walker bait!" Hissed Daryl as he grabbed my arm and pulled me away, i was still in shock. I was pulled into a tent where Daryl and Merle slept in. I closed my eyes as Daryl's hand gently tilted my head to look at my swollen cheek. "Should have hit him again..." He mumbles. I smiled, placing a hand on his cheek. "Leave him be. He learned his lesson the hard way." It was time for dinner a little over an hour. I smiled softly, sitting between Merle and Daryl.

That was until we heard screams of pain.... We knew right away, it was Ed and something else that wasnt human.
