Aubree was still emotional after the death. She honestly couldn't control her emotions, even though she was great at doing it. She couldn't hide it from Vincent.

One morning, at school, Vincent stopped at her locker.

"Bree, are you okay?" He asked sincerely.

"Vincent I'm fine. I just need to grieve for a bit." She smiled.

"I know you better than this. The principal said it's okay if we miss classes." He gave a sad smile.

Then out of nowhere Aubree gave him a hug and cried on his shoulder. Vincent patted her on her back softly

"Bree it'll be okay." He whispered

"Are y-you sure?" She asked weakly.

Vincent didn't say a word. All he did was kiss her on the top of her head and rubbed circles on her back. She knew his answer. He wasn't sure.

It never stays.

The next morning, Vincent felt like nothing mattered. He realized Aubree has kept her distance, assuming that she hated him. That he wasn't worth it to her.

"Aubree why?" He had tears that threatened to spill.

He had a rope in his closet, as a safety measure just in case something happened. Now, it was for something else other than an emergency.

He tried to fly, but the rope caught him.
