It was the beginning of Alstroemeria's third year, just before the triwizard tournament, and she was terrified. Terrified for Harry, terrified about what it might mean to go from the second Potter to the only Potter. She'd been walking the hallways looking for Harry, but he was nowhere to be found. She worked up the courage to knock on the common room door even though she was terrified and unprepared to see Ron. She had been turning corners in order to not see him, and eating with Paula everyday, even going as fare as to curve around Ginny, because her smile was to similar to his. Ron had been especially flirty with the ladies, and never in a discrete way, it hurt Alli so see that, hence the shunning.

But here she was, a worried sister. She ended in the Gryffindor common room getting a lesson from Hermoine in herbology, (but truly waiting for Harry to return) although Alli excelled at herbology, she liked that when Hermoline tutored she felt good about herself, so Alli listened. The twins were in the corner practicing some kind of spell where one could catch the other one on fire, and they would pretend the were burning to death, only to emerge from the flames unscathed. Terrifying, genius, chaos, and horror, definitely the twins in a nut shell. Hermoine flipped to the next page in her textbook, but a note was stuck in the spine. Her cheeks grew red as she saw the name written on the outside

'from ron'

But as she read those first words she burst into tears and left Alli on the wide velvet couch. Hermoine hardly ever had these outbursts! At first Alstroemeria got up to chase after her, but the allure of Ron, seeing in her mind his hand tracing the lines turning into letters and then into words, was far too powerful to overcome. She picked up the parchment and felt the rough edge between her fingertips. She heard his voice as she read his words, the note read;

Dear Hermoine,

I know you are tutoring today so give this to Alstroemeria, i was looking all day for her, she seems to be avoiding me.

Alstroemeria was in fact avoiding him. She grew tired of watching Ron. She watched him in every class everyday, just to see the transformation of his dimples into a full smile, or to watch him grease his hair back, or laughing with the twins, Alstroemeria was exhausted by the love she had for Ron, and seeing him became nothing but a burden. Plus she didn't miss him much because she saw him in her dreams every night anyways, and almost always in her nightmares.

I'm assuming this has been handed off by now so here goes, flower, i miss you? Where have you been and what've i done? I try to think of it but i haven't gotten the bloody message. I miss your smile and the ribbons in your hair, i miss makin faces across the hall at ya, where are you? Send me an owl, please my flower, don't wilt. And i've been seeing that Huffle-nut sitting next to you makin eyes! DO NOT KISS HIM! He looks like he smells of my great aunt Tissy.

Ron

I guess it wasn't Jamie McCordan he had to worry about kissing Alstroemeria Potter. But a certain broken boy, without a clear motive, in the greenhouse. Where the air smelled like Ron, but tasted like Draco.

Draco's lips were like an oasis in a desert. Her throat dried up instantly and her heart burned. There was no movement, just his hands pulling her by the small of her back closer. Her stomach was touching his, but his was hard. Alli's hands dangled dead on either side of her body, she was startled and she'd never done this before, but Draco started to move.

He slid his hands down her ass and grabbed her thighs so rough she was sure she'd have bruises and lifted her onto the planter in the greenhouse, knocking over a pot in the process. Alstroemeria gasped and pulled away, not only because of the poor plant but also because this kiss felt wrong, well not wrong, very wrong. But when Draco moved against her she felt chosen, she felt like she was the only girl in the world, and she craved that feeling so much that even though it was wrong, she laced her fingers into the back of his head, grabbing a handful of his hair. She pulled him closer to her, Draco used her gasp at the plant to stick his tongue down her throat and this was the final straw for Alstroemeria.

Alli pushed Draco hard in the chest and he stumbled back. His pupils were so wide that he looked like an animal waiting to pounce on its prey, and his breathing was so labored that Alli was worried for almost a second. That is until she realized what had just occurred. Her robes had somehow ended up on the floor and her skirt was half off. Shocked, she hopped off the planter, throwing her robe over her shoulders and sweeping potting soil frantically back into the plant they'd knocked onto the floor.

Draco was silent, slicking back his hair and muttering cusses that included 'potter' some where in the mix. Alli was embarassed and frazzled. Her first kiss was Draco Malfoy! Oh god Harry could never know. Never!

Draco grabbed her arm and pulled her up, but even that touch sent a shock of fire down the two.

Alli turned to stare him down, viscously she'd hoped, but his eyes softened her in an instant.

Draco Malfoy was crying.

Though he didn't know why.

Alstroemeria was wondering, scared that her friends were wondering where she was, that when she was absent from class they would worry.

But Draco was not.

Draco Malfoy did not have a friend he believed would notice he was missing, with the exception of Luna Lovegood who always wandered to the Slytherin common room to bring him a mind boggling riddle to distract him from himself. He felt at least that she would wonder.

Alstroemeria hugged him. Not only hugged, she held Draco, he nuzzled into her shoulder and she wrapped her arms around him even tighter.

and Draco Malfoy cried.
