His Legacy

Part 3

Bruno had recognized both men almost immediately as both had become rather infamous for their military careers and the coup and power struggle seventeen years ago. One of the men had a horse-like face and had a prominent goatee,his name was Jean Kirstein, and was currently the deputy commander of the military police despite once being in the scouts. Jean, though an excellent soldier is admittedly selfish person who unlike other yeagerist did not join out of ideology or belief in the cause but rather joined because he had been swayed by the opportunity to get a good life in military police. The man next to Jean was Floch Forster who was wearing a slightly more decorated uniform with a military kepi hat, which signified his importance to others. Floch despite once being an admittedly cowardly man rose to prominence after being one of the only survivors of survey corp,and being the leader of the yeagerist who took over the government 17 years ago. After the coup Floch had secured himself with the highly important office of Prime Minister of Eldia with the support of the yeagerist faction. Despite both men's importance to the government they had never truly met Bruno as they were also kept in the dark by Historia ,so the sight of them shocked Bruno. As the three talked Floch turned his head and glared at Bruno before returning his attention back  to Historia.

And as Bruno approached further he could now make out what they were saying "I see that your son is here..Well I don't want to take up anymore of you or your son's time so I'll be leaving" says Floch before walking away with Jean. As he walks away he turns toward Bruno " You must be Bruno..I'd like to formally introduce myself..however i'm short on time so.. till next time." Floch says before walking further away. Bruno only nods in response before walking towards his mother. As Bruno walked toward his mother he saw the worried look on her face that she had on since her conversation with the men.

"Why were they here?" asked Bruno with a curious look on his face

His mother's face turned from a worried look to relieving look as she faced Bruno and smiled

"Oh there just here for to discuss government business in the capital"

"Really? because you looked very worr-" was all could get out Bruno before being interrupted by is mother's loving embrace

'it's been awhile since I've seen her..so she must really miss me' thinks Bruno as he is suffocated by her hug

" Don't worry about that, you must be hungry I've had the cook prepare us breakfast, so let's go inside and eat! says Historia as she guides him to the cabin

For Historia, the most important thing in the world for her was her son. She had been a very caring and loving mother so that Bruno would not have to grow up like she did. In the end it was her own insecurities about the lack of love her own mother gave her that drove her to be a good mother for her son.

As both entered the dining area of the cabin Historia spotted Victoria "Oh Victoria, it's good to see you how have you been?" asked Historia

"I've been good thank you for asking..your highness" said Victoria with a formal tone

Historia smiled "Victoria, I've told you this before, you don't have to so formal, after all you are a friend of ours" 

"Oh..I'm sorry..Miss Reiss" said Victoria shyly

Bruno smiled as Victoria acted tough to everyone but was really nervous near his mother and acted overly formal around her despite the years of knowing her.

"No need to apologize, just join us for Breakfast" said Historia before all three sat at a table to eat.

As they were eating and talking about various topics Bruno spoke up " Oh mom I almost forgot"
