His Legacy

Part 5

A day later

It was a late night in Trost when a military truck holding MP officers was driving down the streets. In the trunk of the truck sat both Bruno and Victoria among other MP personnel including their commanding officer.

"we're heading for a warehouse that's south of the city, it's a bit isolated from the rest of the city which gives us more options. The warehouse is owned by a nobleman and is officially used for storing fertilizer among other products...however according to our recent intelligence that's just a front, and it's real purpose is to store firearms and explosives for an armed rebellion. However technically we do not know for sure..so only use force if anyone there resists arrest, but I give you full permission to shoot to kill if they fight back or try to destroy evidence." Their captain said to which everyone responded with nod

The truck continues for a while before arriving at their destination. All the MP personnel quickly step out of the truck and begin to head towards the warehouse with each having a bolt action rifle slung over their shoulders. Their captain motions for some of them to head for the front entrance of the warehouse and for the others to take another entrance and to surround the area around. Bruno headed to the front entrance with the others and when one of his comrades opened the door he saw a light in the building and heard the voice of another man.

'shit someone is here'

"what the he-" one of the men in the warehouse said

"hands up" said an officer before pointing a gun at one of the men

"Fuck! run, and destroy it while you can" one of the men said to the other as other ran to another room

"h-hey get back here!" Bruno yelled at the man running

but before Bruno ran after him he looked at another man who was holding some sort of syringe before dropping it and spilling its contents on the floor as he was being grabbed by some of Bruno's comrades.

"Lenz go follow that man" one of Bruno's comrades commanded

But as Bruno was about to leave he noticed that the man they had pinned down on the ground was reaching out with his tongue to lick the puddle of the contents of the now broken syringe

"wait what is he doi-" was all Bruno could get out before the man licked the substance and was followed by a bright light and then a blast of heat which sent Bruno flying back several feet

As Bruno reopened his eyes amid all the confusion he saw a figure towering over him with steam covering the area

"w-what what the hell?" Bruno said as he realized what the gigantic figure was, it was a titan. It was large, large enough to break the ceiling and walls of the warehouse near it, which exposed it to the other military police that were still outside. and it had a nasty grin which intimidated Bruno as it glanced at him. At the feet of the titan Bruno could see the pile of ashes that were the remains of his comrades who were too close to the transformation to survive the heat. The titan stood there for a while before reaching it's hand to grab one of the other men who had survived the blast along with Bruno

"S-S-Someone HELP!" the surviving officer shouted as the titan grabbed and began to bring towards its mouth

"O-OH GOD NO, LENZ HELP ME! the man again shouted out, pleading with Bruno to help him

"Aaaaaaaaa '' the man screamed as the titans's jaws clamped down on his head, crushing the officers head and splattering his blood across the ground, hitting Bruno's face as it did.

All the while Bruno, still paralyzed with fear, did nothing as his comrade was eaten in front of him. And as the titan faced him and reached out his hand to grab Bruno, Bruno did nothing until a shot rang out. Several officers outside the building began to shoot at the titan from the open areas of the wall; the titan broke away and as they did Bruno finally fully realized what was happening. He then grabbed his rifle and started to head for the room the other man had run towards, all the while trying to avoid the titan slowly trying to catch him. Bruno didn't look back as he entered the room out of fear that titan might continue it's pursuit. Bruno, still panting, sees a man in the room fumbling with some matches in his hands as he tries to light one.
