Chris POV
"Ayye" I loudly whispered to get her attention. "Follow my lead." All she did was cross her arms and stare back at me. She better do as I said. I wasn't telling her that to save my own ass. The only people that knew about the kidnapping was my boss, Dominique and myself. It was all over some sort of secrecy thing.
I didn't know why, but no one else was supposed to know about this; not even Mijo and he was a runner just like me. "Ayo, Breezy. Where you at-" Mijo called again, stopping mid-sentence once he laid eyes on Dominique. A cocky smirk grew on his face, oddly making me clench my jaw. I cleared my throat, snapping him out of whatever day dream he was in.
"Mijo," I said, getting off of the countertop to walk towards him. His eyes were glued onto her the entire time. Dominique examined him from head to toe, maintaining her mean mug. "Who's your friend?" he asked, that smirk still plastered onto his face. "Mijo, this my friend," I paused for a millisecond to think of a fake name. Even though I wasn't paying attention to the news lately, which was a bad thing, I was pretty sure the news spread that she was missing. Mijo wasn't the type of nigga to snitch, but I didn't want anything happening to him if our boss found out I was spreading information.
Mijo wasn't even supposed to be in the same room as her for that matter. "Ajah, like Asia the country. Ajah, this is Mijo," I continued, standing on the opposite side of Dominique. He held out his hand to her but she just looked down at it. You see, that's that shit I don't like. I've been trying to keep my patience but she's been testing me. I had too much to deal with. All I asked for was for her to play along yet she wanted to be stuck up.
Swiftly, I pinched her back, making her body jerk a bit. It wasn't too noticeable since her long, curly hair blocked my hand from Mijo's view. Either way, she got the message and shook his hand. Mijo must've been love struck 'cause that stupid smile was still on his face. "How you doin', Ma?" he asked. No reply.
She just continued glaring at him. "Mijo" I called. "How come I ain't never seen you before?" "Mijo!" I hollered. "Ajah, right?" he asked, rubbing his chin. "Fits you perfectly, even though you lookin' more like fine china to me." This nigga had to be kidding me.
"Mijo!!" I yelled, finally getting his attention. I mouthed the words 'get yo ass in the living room' and even though he was reluctant, he did it. I can't believe this boy was tryna flirt. Honestly, I can't blame him. She'd piss the hell outta me at times but I had to admit that Dominique had a cute face, curves in all the right places, a nice, round... "You gonna answer that," she asked, her voice laced with contempt.
I took a split second to squint my eyes at her before rushing over to answer my phone. Was I really thinking all of that? What was wrong with me? The caller ID notified me that my boss was calling...again. What does he want this time?
"Change of plans" he blurted out before I could even say a word. Slightly shocked, I looked at the phone screen and replayed his words in my mind to make sure I wasn't mistaken. The first thing I thought of was Dominique. "With what? The girl or the hit,"
I asked, confused. Dominique's head snapped in my direction but quickly went down once she realized that I had seen her. "Two faced is on the move. Looks like he knows we're coming for him." "Shit," I mumbled, kicking the kitchen cabinet. That meant my job just got two times harder than it already was.
"What do you want me to do?" "I need you to track him." "Okay, I'll-" ...Wait....what? "Wh-what about the g-" "Tie her up and....wait," he suggested, taking a small pause. There was complete silence on the other line for a minute. "Take her with you." "What?!" I argued, slapping my coffee mug off the countertop and into the sink. "You heard me." "Look, she's already giving me hells at home. If I bring her with me I'm risking a lot of-" "Don't make me repeat myself." And just like that, he hung up.
