Chris
By the time I woke up, Mya was long gone. I was surprised that she even woke up early after the work I put in last night. Usually, she'd sleep in a little, make some breakfast then go about her business but she probably had to go to work. Not like I wanted her here anyway. Having her here gave me more stress than I needed. The last thing I needed was her finding out I had some random girl in the guest room down the hall.
Now, I was in the kitchen in some basketball shorts and socks making breakfast. Amazingly, I had some waffles, eggs and bacon done even though I was eating as I cooked. Once I put on the coffeemaker Dominique came to mind.
Last night...
When I saw her stick her head out I knew she was up to something. She was probably trying to escape, which I expected, but I knew for a fact that she didn't expect to find me and Mya french kissing down the hall.
I don't know why, but this adrenaline rush kicked in when I saw her and I deepened the kiss. It wasn't out of spite or anything. Well, technically it was. I did it just to let her know what was going down. It didn't seem like she wanted to go back in her room.
Plus, every time I see her, her body flashes through my mind. I don't know......I deepened that kiss to push those thoughts away. Mya was my girl; Dominique was just a job. I mean, fuck it. As a man I got feelings and urges, too, but I know my boundaries.
My phone vibrated on the countertop. "Boss" flashed across the screen, so I made sure it didn't ring for a second time. "Ayye," I answered.
"How's the girl? You fuck this one up already?" he asked, his voice raspier than usual. Sounded like he had just woken up.
He was referring to the last job he ordered me to do. By chance, I let the girl out my sight for three minutes to answer my front door and she escaped by jumping out the second floor window. She tied the sheets on the bed together, then secured them to the bedpost which helped her get at least halfway to the ground, but she had to drop for another six feet.
By the time I realized she was gone, she hadn't gotten that far. She was only a few blocks over. When I called my boss he was mad as hell, but said that he'd deal with it. He found her, but I haven't heard anything about that girl ever since. Tried to bring it up once and he acted like I was talking in some foreign language, so I could tell what happened.
"No, she tried to escape the morning after I got her but I...changed her mind about it," I reassured him.
"You didn't do anything to her, right?" he growled, sounding angry.
"No. Just the usual. A little threat here and there and some roughing up."
"Good. Have you gone through the files?"
"Yeah" I said hesitantly. Should I ask him how he got all that shit? He never liked it when I questioned his work, but those files were so damn thorough.
"Boss?"
"Chris," he replied coldly.
"How long I gotta keep this girl?"
"As long as I say to."
"As long as you say to? How long is that? I can't deal with this girl. She's-"
"Breezy scared of little girls now?"
"I never said that. She's just so got damn feisty."
"I thought you said you handled that."
"Yeah, for now. But if she keeps on bullshittin' me, I swear I'll do something."
"Well, you better not, 'cause your life depends on it"
