Long ago, there was once a monastery settled in an Anglo-Saxon territory in Northern England we currently know as Wales. Whilst plagues continued to ravage throughout Europe, it was a time of great struggle with faith as people looked to the great scholars of scripture. One of these scholars, also known as a monk, was a young man named Arlo.
Arlo was taken in as a young child by the monastery after viking raiders had savagely murdered his parents. The monastery was the only home he knew. This was where he picked up his interest in reading old scriptures of the Bible, translating them, interpreting them, and furthering his understanding of the work of the Lord. Through his adolescence, he was appraised by his elders for his talent, intellect, and devoutness to the Gospel.
Arlo was a good boy who gave what he could to all of those who were in need. He especially sympathized for those who lost their homes or loved ones to Viking raids. He cared not about the money he spent taking care of the small town his monastery was nestled in. These great deeds of selflessness are what made Arlo beloved by the people despite some of those he helped being cons who used Arlo's donations for debauchery.
One night, Arlo was meditating in his living area when he was visited by a spirit. Behold, it was a blinding orb of white light! And the light called out to Arlo, "My son, it is time for you to fulfill your destiny. You shall be the enforcer of my mission!" Arlo replied, "Who are you? Are you an angel?" The being answered, "I am the vessel of the Lord, Your God. I am in need of your assistance."
Arlo: "And what might that be, Father?"
The Vessel: "The great wrath is coming soon. It is coming sooner than it should be because of the escalation of plagues and famines in these new holy lands."
The vessel then gave Arlo a vision, a prophecy of end times. Arlo was horrified as he watched skies of red, storms ravaging the land, waters turned to blood,, great violence spread throughout, and many innocents in peril! It was a scene taking place before the great fury of Abaddon was set to sweep his fiery sword across the Earth.
Arlo: "Your will be done, what must I do to prevent this great tragedy from happening?"
The Vessel: "You will need to undertake 6 tasks in order to secure the protection of Earth. You must execute each task in order. We do not have much time, Arlo. Instructions for the next tasks will be given after each one is completed. It is important to do it this way since as the order of completing tasks is imperative."
Arlo: "What is the first task, my Lord?"
The Vessel: "You must find a white rooster. Once you have, you will need to take its blood and spread it upon the cross at the altar. You shall do this just as Moses had done by spreading the blood of the lamb to prevent the death of his firstborn."
Arlo: "Your will is my command."
The Vessel: "God speed, my son!"
The vessel then faded away and Arlo awoke from his meditative state. He started on his first task in the night when all the townspeople were asleep. He took a white rooster from a poor farmer and sacrificed it in the name of the Lord. He poured the chicken's blood into a bowl, then walked inside the church. There he approached the altar, dipped his fingers into the blood, and spread it upon the central cross. Arlo had completed his first task.
The next day, the townspeople were shocked as they found their crops started to wither. Their once bountiful stocks had become rotten. Arlo thought these were merely trials of Job to bring the townspeople closer to God. He believed this was supposed to prevent the great famine of the Lord. So, townspeople prayed more at the church, devoting their faith tenfold.
