insight of this story is self explanatory. i'm going to give you some real authentic NOLA culture and focus more on the people that made the city what it is then and now...

creoles.

i've been had this in mind since last Halloween, but never had the time to write it so, i wanted to do it in the new year whenever that be.

no offense to those who do attempt at writing about Louisiana, and preferably NOLA cause that's all alot of you people know about. i don't feel most writers really go into depth about this state and do research and/or watch videos in terms of the culture there or state as a whole. the focus is either on one of four things or all the above: Mardi Gras, the French Quarter, Bourbon St. and for DAMN SURE the accent which tends to be poirly executed cause they worry about "baby" and the pronunciation. dassit. no one ever mentions the parishes, the living of the people there, the slang and dialects people use, which parts of said city people are from like the metros which play a huge part in the many parishes that make up that city for ex: St. Bernard, St. John the Baptist, Jefferson and Orleans Parish.

im not focusing on any accents cause that automatically comes with my character who is creole. but trying to translate Louisiana Creole is very complex, a very endangered black language and hard to find so I have to revert to actual french which is fine because creoles and cajuns can interpret the words being that's where their unique languages come from anyway from their descendants.

voodoo is also another focal point of the state/city. voodoo isn't the only thing people do. so i decided to feature hoodoo instead. i love how it differs from voodoo and after going into the hoodoo shop in the French Quarter, i was fascinated by the spells and the way people can use this particular black magic in terms of getting what they want and desire in life such as, love, monetary gain, success, etc.

also, there will be some tarot cards that will symbolize each part (3 parts to this story) and the plots of each part.

i want this story in particular to not only satisfy my Louisiana natives/readers on this app and showcase the real us, but to also be aesthetically appealing, and lure you in as you read. i want to make you all feel as though you are there and make you feel at home with this one.

this story will not be published by chapter, but as a whole. so when the entire story is completed, edited, and in my drafts for updates, the official project will be up by then.

i hope you all are excited as well as i am. i can't wait for you all to get to know Sidonie and who she really is.

and despite everything that is going on concerning the loss of my dad not too long ago, i feel as though being off the app has helped me. and writing is also helping me as well. and i keep saying this lol. but i do have my crying moments but when im using my grief into my writing, it tends to wash away that grief and i've realized i dont have to write to update or anything, i can just write to help me cope and i thank you all for being so understanding of what im still going through.

i hope you guys ready? 😈
