University of Academics. Such a sophisticated, organized, and exquisite school, right?
Wrong.
"Oi, Deku! Quit staring!"
That was an angry blond in the front speaking—more like shouting.
"K-Kacchan! Please, I wasn't staring!"
And that was a freckled kid with green hair, fearing for his life.
You could say this was normal in class 1-A—because it was. Everyone was used to it by now, including (Y/N) (L/N).
(Y/N) (L/N) was the type of person who didn't enjoy getting involved in drama, but he loved watching it from a distance. Making humorous comments to Sero as that blond, Katsuki Bakugo, kept making threats to the broccoli looking fellow, Izuku Midoriya.
"It's like a Pomeranian barking at teeny 'ole piece of broccoli," he whispered to his tape friend after taking a sip from his water bottle, earning a giggle out of them. Soon joining the pair came Denki Kaminari, who was now also laughing up a storm.
"What's so funny, huh, extras?"
In the back of the classroom though, were a pair of heterochromatic eyes, one aqua and the other brown, staring at the (H/C) who was sitting with his friends in the front.
He knew staring was a bit rude, a bit creepy, but what he didn't know was that he actually was staring. (Y/N) didn't seem to notice either.
———
The end of the day was always one of the best times for (Y/N), and possibly one of the worst for Shoto. (Y/N) got to go home to a loving grandmother who always had dinner prepared, while Shoto had his father's wrath to face. (Y/N) had a grandfather who's garden is always in tip top shape and one of the most peaceful places to unwind, while Shoto's siblings are always seeming to be too afraid to stand up to their father when Enji grows upset when talking about All Might.
Nevertheless, these two still had something in common, even though their lives may seem completely opposite.
Their mothers were both kept away somewhere because of their fathers' doing.
But, that is a story for another time.
———
The next day was all the same routine, except for the final bell.
"Midoriya, Hanta said you had the notes from math today?"Shoto's head perked up at the sound of that voice.
"Oh, yeah! It was a bit tricky trying to keep up, but I got most of what I could get," he saw the freckled boy smile. A smile grew onto the other's face as well, causing a slight twang in the half 'n half's heart. "At least you got something down," responded the boy, holding up his own notebook. It was blank except for the title of the lesson.
"(Y/N)!" "I don't understand radicals, Midoriya," the taller sighed, his hand quickly scribbling down what he saw on paper. "Then why don't you get a tutor to help you?" Midoriya suggested, tapping his chin. The other looked up with hope. "I'm not very good at radicals either, (Y/N). I don't want to teach you anything incorrectly," he frowned. "But maybe Momo or Tenya can help!"
(Y/N) thought over these two options. He didn't have the patience to deal with Tenya Iida, that's just a given. He's too much of a prankster for Tenya's strict attitude.
Momo sounded like a good plan, but he knew himself too well. The (H/C) would always get distracted if he looked down at her...
"Hey, what about Todoroki? He's good at math!"
The mentioned boy's eyes blinked, looking at the pair in the front of the classroom. Blue and frown met (E/C), making the one in the back freeze (and not because of his quirk).
Midoriya spun around as well and smilies brightly, waving Shoto over. "He understands radicals at least, but the problem is getting him to talk a lot," spoke the green haired boy. 'Thanks, Midoriya,' Todoroki sarcastically thought to himself, giving a short nod to Deku. "He said he would tutor you!" Midoriya smiled like he always does and pointed at his paper to help guide (Y/N) with his scribbling he called penmanship.
"I really appreciate it, Midoriya, and I appreciate it from Todoroki as well. Can you give him my number so we can set up a good time? I have to leave immediately after school," (Y/N) scrambled to pick up his stuff as the clock's hand ticked one second at a time, inching to the final bell. He gripped his notebook hurriedly and shoved it into his backpack full of crumbled paper, loose pencils, and crushed plastic water bottles. (Y/N)'s friend glanced down and covered his mouth to hide his giggling.
The final bell rang as Midoriya waved a farewell to (Y/N) as he swiftly walked out the classroom, also waving to a few more of his pals as Shoto Todoroki waited outside the class 1-A, his eyes glued on (Y/N) as he weaved his own way through the crowd of people and out the school entrance.
"What did he say, Midoriya," the dual quirked inquired once his friend made it into the hallway. They both began walking side by side.
The shorter gave a thumbs up to him. "I told him you could tutor him, and told me to give you his number so you could discuss further plans for tutoring!"
A small smile graced Todoroki's face as he glanced at his phone in his hand as they made it out the door and on their way home. He felt warm all over his face.
———
At home, Shoto dropped his bag and went straight to his room, as he heard nothing but silence throughout the home. Sitting on his made bed, he looked down at his phone, opening it and staring at his newly added contact. He began typing on his phone.
Todoroki:
Hello. This is Shoto. You needed a tutor? He set his phone down as he awaited a reply, getting some homework done, tidying up his room, and even working out a little bit. It was dark before he received a response.
(Y/N):
yes! hey, thank u so much for this btw. i appreciate it man. when's a good time for u??Todoroki and (Y/N) began to text back and forth, building a plan on when they could tutor, hopefully before (Y/N)'s next math test. They concluded Thursday after school would be great—two days from now.
He put his phone down, and went to sleep, not bothered to eat dinner with his family. He wondered what (Y/N) was doing right now.
