Harry spent the whole week wondering why Louis choose 'cleaning his room' over hanging out with him. He didn't want to admit, it was bothering him. But it was.
So Harry being who he was, decided to spice up his outfit. He was going out with Lou. No details except it wasn't fancy. You could definitely tell it was an outfit Gigi suggested. He'd never worn a dress out. Today he was. The white made his green eyes pop. The vintage lace gave it just enough flare for it to be him.
He applied the glitter around his eyes. In a way that was messy, but not completely garbage. Everything was going nicely so far. He was satisfied. The door bell rang and he darted down the stairs. Butterflies erupted in his tummy when he came face first with the door. Something about Louis made him feel so safe. When he was with him time felt fake. He could sit with the boy for hours and it'd only feel like minutes.
When the door swung open Louis sucked in a breath. Harry looks like an absolute angel. Sent here to wreck him. Louis raked his eyes down Harry. The dress he's wearing sat so perfectly on his hips. His milky skin contrasting with it so well. He snapped back up to his eyes. The glitter making them glow and pop even more. Every feature on Harry looked as if it took years to articulate. Even the way his curls sat so perfect upon is head. Every twist and turn looked so intricate. He is so beautiful. Louis was at a complete loss for words. Despite the thoughts bouncing around his head.
"Uh. Hi." Harry smiled up at Louis. Louis almost melted. He smiled back down at him. "Hi pretty boy." Harry blushed. The words slid off Louis' lips like honey on toast. "Brought you something." Harry smiled. Louis dug into his jacket pocket. Pulling out a small daisy. Presenting it to the small boy in front of him. Harry giggled. Louis felt his body go limp. As many times as he heard the younger giggle, he'd never get over it. He stuck the daisy behind Harrys ear and looked down at his Vans.
He felt a small arm wrap around his waist as they walked back to his house. He knew Harry wanted to know what they were doing. "Mum said I could take the car." Harry chuckled. "Forgot. You're a big boy who can drive now." He gave a small slap to Louis' bum. He felt his face heat up. "Race you to the car?" The small boy coos from beside him. "You're on!" Louis chuckles. Harry takes off before any other words are exchanged.
"Hey! Cheater!" Louis chants when he finally makes it over. Harry rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest. "Not this again. Remind me. Are we still six years old?" Louis pouts. "No. But you still cheat like we are." He pulls open the car door for Harry. "It's okay LouLou. Some things will never change." Louis' heart skipped a beat. That nickname. He hasn't heard it in forever. This sense of security came over him when he heard it. Especially from Harrys mouth.
They rode in silence. Louis' hand rested upon Harrys thigh. "Lou." He glances over to the green eyed boy. "Can I pick a song?" Louis nods and hands his phone over to the younger one. He played Mind Over Matter by Young the Giant. Which honestly, he wasn't expecting. Harry sang the lyrics quietly. Louis listened intently. Wanting to catch every lyric leaving his perfectly sculpted lips. "Where are we going?" Harry traces patterns on the top of his hand. Leaving little tingles behind. "I'm not telling you." Harry sighed. Louis smiled to himself.
Louis honestly had no idea where he was taking the boy. He had the picnic basket. But he didn't have a picnic spot. He just drove until he saw an open field. Full of daises. This seemed to be a reoccurring pattern to him. Harry gasped when they pulled off the deserted road. "So many." He pressed his face up against the glass and Louis smiled. The happiness that shot through him. Just by watching him was something unreal to him. He felt so content in this moment. Nothing could bring him down.
Louis laid out the red plaid cloth while Harry ran in circles. The car speakers playing another song Harry picked. Harry looked so angelic in that moment. The way he delicately grabbed the daisies as if he was going to harm them. The way the golden sun reflected against his milky complexion so beautifully. Louis snapped a few candids of Harry. "Haz." The small boy runs over. Smile never leaving his face.
Harry sat down with an armful of daisies. He began to twine them together in a way Louis couldn't quite comprehend. That was until, Harry sat the daisy crown on the top of his head. Louis couldn't help the fondness that came over him. He picked up his camera once more. This time much to Harrys knowledge. He smiled big and bright. Eyes closed and dimple popping out.
Louis hands Harry his peanut butter banana sandwich. Even after many protests. "Nope. We're not doing anything until you eat your sandwich." Harry groans. Louis took another bite of his and smiled. "See good." Harry giggled. "You're so stupid." He took a bite and Louis smiled over at the younger. "Stop watching me creep." Louis chuckles. "I'm the creep?" Harry nods. "You kept snapping pictures of me while I mowed the grass." Harrys cheeks turned bright red. "Maybe you shouldn't be outside with no shirt on." Louis throws his head back. He leans over and presses a kiss to Harrys temple. "Whatever you say love."
Harry crosses his arms over his chest. "I can't believe it's going to rain." Louis rolls his eyes. "I'm sorry baby. It didn't say anything about rain on the weather channel." Harrys heart skipped a beat. That nickname. Made him feel so good. "Maybe they should know more." Louis laughs. "That's not how it works." He places the basket in the trunk before turning back to face the small boy. The small raindrops making his curls poof up. Harry ran back over to the passenger door. He leaned in the car. Whatever he was up to. Louis couldn't see.
It was now dark out. Harrys skin was glowing under the moonlight. The mix of sweat and water droplets rested upon his forehead. He played a pop song. Louis had only heard it once. He intertwined his fingers with Louis' and pulled him in front of the car. The headlights shining bright on them. Harry spun them around in circles to the song. Louis and Harry giggled and held each other close. "And you were out of my league" Harry screamed the lyrics at Louis. He threw his head back. Then the rain started coming down harder. Soaking the two of them. Louis leaned down and crashed his lips onto Harrys. Harry kissed back immediately. Lighting bolts went off between them. Every time he kissed Harry it felt like the first time. Harry pulled away and stared up at Louis' ocean eyes. Louis peered down into his emerald ones. The rain never stopping. But yet, it felt like nothing in the moment existed but the two of them.
They listened to the song on repeat. Jumping around in the rain until the temperature gave out. Poor Harry was shivering. Louis wrapped his jacket around him. He mentally thanked himself for taking it off earlier, when it was warm. When he got in the car, he turned the heat on full blast. Louis chuckled. Harry turned in his seat and reached across the console. Pushing his small fragile hand through Louis' hair.
"Best first date ever." Where the only words to leave his mouth. Louis couldn't compose words to respond to the small boy. But god, did he love the feelings he had around him.
