Cerise stepped out into the clearing and sunlight rained down on her in perfect rays. Daring swore he could hear angels singing as the violinist played. Every feeling that he had the night he saw Cerise enter the Thronecoming dance came back tenfold.
Her hair was braided with flowers and draped lightly over her shoulder. A fur-lined red cloak and hood replaced the usual veil. Her dress trailed along the grass behind her giving the illusion of her floating on a red and gold cloud. Just to top it, she wore a black corset over her gown and was tightly clutching a bouquet of white roses.
Cerise smiled at Daring. He finally understood what people meant when they said they "Felt like a million bucks". Daring could not have been luckier than he was now. He had the most smart, amazing, and beautiful soon-to-be wife in the world.
Daring's eyes quickly scanned over the crowd. He didn't know why he did this, but it was possible that he just wished to make sure everyone was paying the proper respect to his love. For whatever reason it was, Daring still looked over everyone.
He was proud to see his parents beaming up at him from the crowd. It hadn't taken them long to realize that Cerise was a wonderful girl for their son. After their first meeting, they had instantly blessed the marriage... even though they hadn't been asked.
Along with his parents, many more of the couple's family members and close friends were there: Raven, Dexter, Apple, Hopper, Briar, and almost everyone from their class attended. There were also quite a few family members that Daring didn't recognize... but he could tell by the way they had turned up their noses, they were distant royals who thought highly of themselves.
Daring tore his eyes away from the crowd as Cerise reached the pedestal. This was it, after all this time they were finally getting married. Daring couldn't wait to show Cerise the surprise he had waiting for her. He had been saving it for months now.
At that moment a secondary thought crossed his mind. Where was Ramona? Daring hadn't seen her at all yet, and she'd promised she'd come. Sadly for Daring, this question was answered all too quickly, and at the worst moment possible.
Ramona ran into the clearing, she was foaming at the mouth and growling in anger. The rabid woman howled shrilly at the sky and rushed forward. Before Daring, or his father for that matter, could draw his sword, Ramona had tackled Cerise and was holding her, pinned to the wooden pedestal. Daring stared in horror, what could he do?
