A Princess's Laughter

I slowly opened my eyes, awakening from a very deep yet ultimately unfulfilling sleep. As my eyes opened completely, I once again found myself spacing out, looking towards the roof of my royal king bed with an empty and aimless stare. My bed canopy's sky blue and white colors used to bring me simple delight just by looking at them.

Though my thoughts were still groggy, I managed to steadily sit upright despite struggling to get the heavy bed sheet off of my body. I lightly scratched my head and yawned as I looked straight ahead, seeing myself in the mirror just across the room from my bed. It was hard to see at first as my room was dimly lit and I wasn't wearing my glasses, but I could still make out a decent image of me wearing my pink pajamas. When I touched my long hair, it was immediately obvious that it was intensely disheveled. My hair had two natural hair colors, sky blue and white. It was the sign of the royal family. Although right now, instead of giving myself a more noble image, the two colors made it more obvious how messy my hair was. I would have to carefully brush it for a long time after I take my bath so that it would look proper. The white furs of my rabbit ears were slightly unruly as well. They would require just as much attention as my hair to properly maintain them throughout the day.

The door of my room suddenly opened, causing me to flinch ever so slightly. The sound completely woke my mind up from its groggy state. The light from the outside hall entered my room, lighting up the previously dim space. My eyes followed the light towards its source, and I finally noticed the royal attendant who opened the door to my room, only giving out a dark silhouette due to the bright light of the hall behind her back.

As my eyes got used to the light, the royal attendant's silhouette began to disappear, replaced by her image as it became clearer. She had an expression of genuine worry.

"Lady Majesty, you're awake! My apologies for entering your room!" She immediately attempted to close the big doors she just opened. I quickly raised my hand.

"Wait! You've done nothing wrong," I told her with a concerned tone in my voice. "You did three sets of three knocks and entered my room when I didn't respond. You did what you were told correctly. I was the one who didn't do what I was supposed to do and answer back to you. I was spacing out. I'm sorry." I actually couldn't remember anything when I was in that groggy state of mind, but Don was an excellent attendant. She wouldn't have made a simple mistake like that which meant that she did the three sets of knocks. I probably didn't notice because I was still half-asleep.

"Is... is that right?" Don responded, still somewhat unsure. She let out a long sigh, suddenly looking relieved of any worry. I felt really bad for worrying her that way. She clapped once, the sound getting my attention. She was already smiling before I knew what was going on. She spoke again, this time with a happy and excited voice. "Moving on from that. Good morning, Princess! It's such a nice day today. Wouldn't you know it?"

Don was the royal attendant that was assigned to personally assist me with my everyday activities. She was quite tall compared to the average girl, and her arms were lengthy too. Her tall height further emphasized her already nice body figure. When we first had a bath together, I was taken aback by her beautifully shaped soft-looking breasts and curvy hips. I was particularly jealous of her breasts, as mine were a bit on the smaller side. She had straight auburn hair that was long in length. She let hair flow down to her front, reaching down just above her chest. The rest of her hair extended to her back below her shoulders and stopped at about her waist. The way her hair shined regardless of wherever she may be showed her meticulous care for it, and it always paid off as she looked very beautiful every day. Her rabbit ears were very cute as well, always animated in their movement depending on her emotions. She was wearing her usual uniform, a white long-sleeved polo shirt and a red necktie under a sky blue vest. The necktie was always different colors, depending on what Don wanted to wear that day. Her very formal top always contrasted with the cute skirt she wore. The design of her skirt was simplistic and was mostly a solid light yellow color. It had frills on its hem, giving it a really fluffy and relaxed feel. Lastly, she wore black high socks and a pair of black knee-high boots.
