The First Day

Sam groggily rubbed his eyes as he woke up. It was such a tiring night yesterday with the martial arts competition coming up soon. He really wanted to win it.
Sam stood up and headed to the bathroom to rinse his face. As he did he looked at the clock beside him. The time showed 99.99PM. The clock must have broken. He knew this would happen as he had told his parents repeatedly told his parents. He sighed, a long deep sigh. His parents never listened to him.
He pushed open the bathroom door and turned on the shower head. Surprisingly, nothing happened.
"Why is everything not working?" he shouted at himself. He cursed his bad luck.
He opened the door to go to his hall to find his parents. Instead a gaping hole visited him. He screamed as he fell down. His arms shot out everywhere trying to grab at anything that can stop his fall. His hand soon got hold of a rusting metal bar. Pain shot out from his shoulder as he screamed in pain. It felt as though his hands had been pulled out of the socket. His reflexes kicking in, he swung himself into an empty flat.
It was the smell that first hit him. There was a strong smell if decomposition. He gagged and almost threw up.
He decided to leave the area.
Little did he know that some thing was creeping up behind him. It had 10 tentacle-like hands and a slick black colour.
Sam was struck with surprise. The creature whipped a tentacle round his ankle and pulled him towards the creature's mouth. He kicked and thrashed but he could not break the creature's grip.
"Noooooooo..." he screamed...
