The Rush

WARNING: Character experiences panic attack.

(Y/N) POV

You eyed the pretty boy as he stood up with a smirk on his face. He seemed slightly surprised, but he was still clearly confident in what he was doing. You scowled at him as he gave you a wink, no doubt realizing that you were holding back. On his left, a boy with blue skin was messing with something in his hands. After a few moments, his hands separated to reveal that he had made the balls more rock-like.

"That guy's turned the balls into some kind of stone or metal!" you called out.

Midoriya turned to you with a surprised look on his face. "How can you see that from here?" he asked.

You cocked your head in confusion, but before you could respond, another boy took the hardened balls, caused them to glow while calling out an attack, and then threw them into the ground, creating huge cracks.

"Where are they gonna pop out?" Midoriya muttered as the ground continued to rumble. You quickly caught on and realized what the guy's attack must be.

Suddenly, Jiro stepped in front of everyone. "Get back! I'll handle this!" she said quickly.

With that, she crouched down and put the back of her hands on the ground, her earphone jacks plugged into something on them. You felt the ground shake and then saw it shatter as a loud deep noise emanated from below. The cracking spread to where several of your assailants were, causing them to lose their footing. The four balls launched out into the air from the newly formed cracks and started to head straight for Mineta. He cried out in terror and started waving his arms helplessly.

"Maximum strength and viscosity!" Mina yelled as she leapt past you, "Protect this perv, Acid Veil!"

"Wow, thanks! That's such a great move!" Mineta said, surprisingly not being pervy.

"It's my defensive special that creates a melty wall," Mina humbly bragged.

"Nice one Mina!" you called out as you stretched out your left wing to give the two some more cover.

She flashed you a huge smile and pumped up her fists. You could tell that she was starting to enjoy this. Looking back to the pretty boy, you saw a smirk on his face. What was he planning?

"Outta the way!" you heard him command his classmates as he put his hands to the ground, "Their defenses are too strong right now. I'll fix that."

"Get behind me!" you yelled as you rushed in front of your classmates, trying to cover them from whatever was coming.

"Maximum force!" pretty boy yelled, "Tremoring Earth!"

To your surprise, the ground shook beneath you and started launching chunks up into the air. You spun to try and catch some of your classmates, but the debris kept buffeting your wings, preventing you from taking off. As you desperately reached out to grab Midoriya, who was the closest one to you, a huge rock caught your right wing and sent you spiraling away.

"(Y/N)!" you heard him call out to you as you were carried off.

Shit! you thought, I gotta do something, fast!

Frantically wracking your brain, you remembered what Midoriya had taught you. You needed controlled bursts. With your new plan in mind, you placed your right hand nozzle and the rock that was propelling you and released a quick and violent burst of flames. It didn't destroy the rock, but it was enough to crack it in two and push it out from under your wing. After using several quick blasts to right yourself, you spread out your wings to regain control and scanned the area. A group of other students had already spotted you and were starting to throw a volley of balls. You quickly rolled to your right and flew down between some rocky mountains, deciding to stay low to the ground.
