➳ Told from Yamaguchi's POV.
I sighed, it was now 1 P.M, customers should be flooding in soon.. I brushed my dark olive-brown hair behind my petite ears, looking down at the cash register in front of me. I ran my fingers on the cold metal, then running my fingers over the rubber buttons. My head quickly shot up when I heard the bell of the café door ring. A tall blonde male walked in, wearing a comfortable looking grey jacket, with a teal-ish sweater under, though it looked more like a greyish teal, almost as if it were worn out.
He caught me staring, his amber eyes meeting mine. I quickly looked down, my freckled face turning pink. "Shit.." I mumbled, playing with my fingers as he walked up to the register, hands in pocket. "H-Hello! Welcome to Haikyuu café, what can I get you today? Our weekly special is maple cinnamon latte if that interests you!" I mentally scolded myself for stuttering as I pointed to the small chalkboard that neatly showed "WEEKLY SPECIAL: Maple Cinnamon Latte." He raised an eyebrow, then looked back at me, pushing his glasses up a bit. "It's fine." His voice sounded monotone, yet very.. attractive. "I'll take a slice of strawberry shortcake and.. that maple cinnamon latte." A smile tugged at his lips as I smiled happily. "A name for your order?" I was screaming internally, I was jittery even though I had just met the young man. What the hell was wrong with me? "Tsukishima." My cheeks turned a darker shade of red.. Even his name was attractive. "Coming right up!" I printed out his order, running into the backroom.
I smiled happily as I danced in the backroom as Suga brewed his latte. "What are you so happy about?" Suga looked back at me, raising his eyebrow. "Ohh, it's nothing.." I covered my face and squealed. "It's obviously 'nothing' if you're acting like a 6 year old in a toy store. Come on, tell me!" He nudged me, smiling. "Fine, fine.. There's a customer out there right now, he's so.. attractive. He reminds me of what it feels like to step in a bookstore, or sitting on the swings at the old playground I used to go to when I was young." Suga shook his head as he laughed, finishing brewing the coffee. Suga quickly applied whipped cream, setting it on a platter along with the strawberry shortcake, which the strawberries were cut into a heart. I looked up at Suga with a glare, my freckles cheeks a bright pink. He just chuckled, saying "Go on!" as he shooed me out.
I sighed, coming out to the customer area. "Order for.." I squinted at the receipt. "Tsukishima?" I looked up. The blonde looked up, raising his hand. I smiled, walking over and setting the food on plates, along with setting down a fork, spoon, and straw. "Thank you." He nodded his head. "Of course! Enjoy." I quickly ran back to the backroom, holding the platter close to my chest. "I did it!" I squealed, holding Suga's hands as he just laughed at my silly behavior. He just rolled his eyes and took off his apron. "I'm off for today, Hinata should be coming in soon." I nodded, hugging him tightly. "Bye! Love you." "Love you too." Suga replied, walking out.
Nearly 20 minutes later, I walked out to come collect his plates when I saw a small slip of paper under a plate. I opened it and almost immediately, my eyes widened. "A phone number.." My face turned a bright red as I bit my lip roughly, running into the backroom and placing the dishes in the sink. I was elated, I could barely wait to get home.
